Installing EDFC in the rear
Hi guys
Can someone with the Tein EDFC tell me what was involved in fitting the motors on the rear shocks. Do you route the wire up into the boot, or can you route it back underneath the car then up through the firewall grommet? |
You install the motor on the shock before install. Feed the wire into the body of the car through the hole the top of the shock goes through.
Once inside the car, with all the rear tower bar panels removed, you will see a hole about the size of a quarter. I used a dremel with a cutoff wheel to widen the hole on each side. I then used a flashlight and wire grabber tool to reach in and pull up the plug for connecting to the EDFC harness. |
In the G35 there was no hole at all and you had to drill your own.

i think i know the hole you guys mean
do the top plastic panels on the strut bar (either side of the silver centre piece) come off on their own, or do u need to take the sides off too? |
Make sure you smooth out the hole you dremel or tape the edges or it can start cutting your wire with all the bumping around. Wait till you run the wire from back to front.Thats the fun part.

you don't need to expand the holes, you can just plug the wires together (with the joint/connection staying in the area under the strut bar) and run the cable thru the hole - that's what i did.
