I certainly wouldn't trust them.

Could be worth someone looking into...

I could be convinced with some sponsorship... wink wink!
I track my Z alot, I'd be a great test car.

Really now and which manufacturing facility would this be? It would be a great question to forward to Loren.

Also, the video of course was more of a joke, but it seems as though you missed the point. The brakes have held up for me just fine at road race events and I will be swapping for a new setup soon anyways :)

03Z33 10-01-2006 04:39 AM

There's nothing wrong with either one... don't bother changing unless you need more "bling show points" :icon38: They're no Alcon or Brmebos but they get the job done on street and track. I know of more than one FI Z running the Megan setup with no problems.

personally, I'd wait till they figure out how to at least make a test pipe before venturing into trying their brakes

WTF do test pipes have to do with Brakes?! Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Megan or their crap products, but if you're going to sell Rotora brakes and then call the Megan's crap then that's just plain hypocritical :icon8:

Z1 Performance 10-01-2006 02:48 PM

03z33 - take a chill for a second. The Megan test pipes have a well founded reputation for not cutting the mustard, and as such, it makes people think twice about their other products. It's an odd thing because for some other cars, their items are decent (Evo 02 housing for example).

As far as them being the same, that's an easy thing to state, but based on the pics that have been posted of Rotora's and the pics Megan has on their site of these, they are not the same.

just from a cursory look, the caliper bridge and the outer casing look completely different

Just like Adam to post a comparison picture of a 4-pot vs. a 6-pot :icon43: I'm sorry, you probably don't know the difference :icon18: U=D-SUK :icon9:

the whole chinese reverse engineering is unfounded...remember while most cultures were plugging berries in their noses the chinese developed gun powder, lunar calender, and other inventions...

My friend had a Megan catback exhaust for about a year, no problem and sounded great. But I agree tho, with that price, I'd go with a trusted name like Wilwood.

bleufiend 10-01-2006 04:21 PM

For a cold air intake on a budget, I would perhaps trust megan, for braking though, I would go with a trusted brand. My 0.02 .
