best spring/drop without using camber kit?
 

can anyone help me which one of the springs is the best for the Z without sacrificing comfort and without buying a camber kit? is tababe a good choice or the H&R?

I have Eibach pro kit... rides good no camber issuse and good drop

I got the Tanabe NF210's installed today from Rick at Status. It looks awesome, i can't believe i waited 8 months after getting my 19" volks GT-V's to get springs. It feels great to me, I don't really notice a harsher/rougher ride. If the Z was my daily driver I don't think it would be a problem. Its a perfect drop IMO with my 19" 9.5f 245 AND 10.5R 275 Toyos. I haven't scraped on any speed bumps or driveways either. But the camber is off and you can not correct it back to specs without a kit (That's what I've read here).

the tanabe 210's give a pretty good drop.......a little camber in the back but its ok...my front tires seem like they are keeping up very well.

I have the Tein s.tech springs... the drop is less than an inch and the ride is a little firmer but not uncomfortable at all. The car feels a lot better.

o fuk yea i have the stage 1 kit with sways and springs and it rides perfect. completely change the way it drove it was alot tighter and more agressive on turns. i think you should get the kit its only like 450. springs are like 200

That's weird, because I've read here that you can get it close to specs. It might not be completely to spec, but pretty close. Anyone else know about this?

If your bent on keeping the car within oem alignment specs you need to limit the amount of drop to .8" or less.

ek. None of them look too good vs stock on a lowered setup on tokiko D specs.
What are tokiko spring specs? Im concidering those, RSR and eibach prokit, leaning toward the prokit..

Tokico springs are spec'd in the list I posted above.

Why do you think none of the springs look good vs oem "on D specs"?

Sorry missed the tokiko. Most of them are softer than the stock setup. Although im aware soft doesnt mean bad handling, i'd rather have a linear spring with around stock numbers. I can't fathom why something would be 20% softer than stock for handling..

ok, so if i do get camber..which one do i get? the A camber link;or Toe link? or both.? do the front need it too or just the back tires?

you will need the rear SPC kit only - it does camber and toe. Front camber is not adjustable but even slightly more than stock is a good thing. Stock toe is adjustable

plumpzz- there are easily as many springs on there stiffer than stock as there are softer. Keep in mind too that while the specs help things, they are by no means a final authority. How the car "feels" overal is as much dependant on your tires and tire pressure as they are on your shock and spring combo.

I've used almost all of the springs listed above on one of 2 tires (T1S and S03's) with only a few exceptions. Rideheight aside, they all felt remarkably similar in day to day driving conditions. Yes there are some differences but they are not nearly as night and day as, say a 40-60 lb change in spring rate would appear to make.

We've been using the Hotchkis and Tein S Tech mainly, whereas the RSR used to be the go to spring before the availability issues came about. Both the Tein and Hotchkis have worked out wonderfully on early cars as well as newer ones, with a variety of wheel and tire combos

Remember the extreme WIDE oem alignment specs are for warranty not optimum handling nor tire wear.

Always align to the perfect midpoint of published acceptable range to achieve ideal conditions.

This is the error most make assumming in spec is ok!

Does this apply to roadster too (2005)? The roadster sits lower than the coupe in the rear. I had hotchkis springs on the coupe and my alignment was almost perfect.

Anybody have a roadster with the hotchkis springs without camber kit?
