How much better are the Brembos on the track model?

The stock Brembos are only good enough at the novice level. Once/if you advance to intermediate, you will fade them in short-order. If you are going to upgrade your system anyway, I highly suggest an aftermarket (Stoptech) front kit over the Brembos if you plan on attending and driving track events with even mildly-aggressive driving.

Hm...where can I learn more about the Stoptech brakes? And how much do they usually run?

I see you are local. Call Rob at Z Car Garage and talk to him a bit about brake upgrades: 408 452-0350. Check out ZCG cars at www.zcargarage.com
Some used and new Brembos here: http://www.zcargarage.com/classifieds.htm
