My car's suspension is leaning to the left

I've done some research and also used the search button before posting this thread so here is the problem. One, i've noticed that other z's have also encountered this problem and by researching it i haven't found any conclusion to this problem. My car is sitting a 1/2 in lower on the left hand side of the car than on the right. At first i tried tire pressure thinking that was it but it wasn't. I tried just about everything until i decided to bring it to the shop so that they could take a look at the car. Well the shop didn't put the car on the lift because they were full of cars getting reparied but they did come out and measure it and it indeed was sitting lower on the left hand side then on the right, this is frustrating anyone have any ideas. Also the crazy thing about it is that somedays the car seems to be sitting pretty level on a level ground and then other days the car is for sure not sitting straight i just don't get it. I thought i was tripping out or something until other people have posted noticing this problem to.

Mine does the same. I have S-tein drop springs. I usually occupy the car soley, so I'd say it is a weight factor on the driver's side that effected the amount the springs "settled" on that particular side.

If your standing from the back of the car is it visually noticeable that your car is sitting higher on one side if your looking closely. You also might be right i'm diving alone 90 percent of the time i drive the car unless my girl is riding with me so that could be. It just really annoys me because i hate things that are leaning it's like a picture on the wall that is leaning, straight annoying.

What kind of suspension do you have?

marques1 Jun 1, 2007 01:34 PM

im just on my stock suspension with 19inch wheels thats it.

blaukal Jun 1, 2007 02:04 PM

convert it to a right hand drive until it levels out again.

I don't see how the car could lean to the left unless you are a HUGE heffer.

Me too

My driver's side rear is 1/4 inch lower than the passenger side rear. My driver front, however, is 1/2 inch higher than the passenger front. I've got the stock suspension as well. I'm picky so you can imagine I'm not real excited about it...I'd be interested to know if this is common.

One more reason to go with adjustable coilovers...

Honestly, though, there's no excuse for stock suspension to get all unlevel like that.

That's funny, I've got the same problem. I'm not too sure what the difference is, but I'll look at some pics when I get home.

Well my car is in the shop right now getting the suspension checked out. I'm a very anal person and this just bother the hell out of me lol. I will let you guys know what happened as soon as my mechanic gets back incontact with me it might take a little bit though. Oh by the way it only usually takes one side of your car to be off and every wheel will vary because of the one side being off. Hopefully i will be able to help out the z community with this problem because i know there are people out their as anal as me if not more lol.

bbs350z Jun 6, 2007 10:37 AM

my car is a tad lower on the drver side as well. but im also alone 90percent of the time. im 6'1 and weigh 185 so its not a huge weigh addition on one side

marques1 Jun 6, 2007 10:42 AM

Im 6'4 200 lbs but i wouldn't think that it should matter that much but i could be wrong

Korki Buchek Jun 6, 2007 11:45 AM

Ya, if you were 450 lbs it might be an issue. I'm almost as big as you and have no problem.

Swap the right side spring with the left; they are interchangable.
