If your z's suspension leans (please add your name to list)
 

Hey guys i have another thread explaning how our cars suspension seems to favor the left side and starts to lean (for example my rear end leans 1/2 inch off to the left). I'm posting this up again because obviously from my last thread im not the only one having this issue and im trying to get nissan to resolve this issue for us. As the people may know that already have brought their car to nissan for this issue they look at your car and say there is nothing wrong and then charge you 95.00 but it seems as if their is some sort of problem. So if you are having this issue please put your name on this list and please no smart remarks because this thread is going to be printed out to show the evidence to nissan. I brought my car to the nissan dealership and they got a tech to measure both sides it was for sure off by a 1/2 inch so they are calling corporate to see what they can do about this i'm just figuring this thread would help out a bit more. When you list your name can you please give us a measurement such as 1/4 or 1/2 or etc so we know how bad your car is leaning, thanks i will start off.

but seriously its beause of your added weightg putting pressure on the drivers side suspsension

Uh yeah, exactly.

OP, you DID anticipate this, right? Even 100 extra pounds over the course of time is going to make one set of springs more compressed than the other set.

Even aftermarket springs settle more on the left. Nissan isn't going to do squat, but you could just swap the springs between the left and right sides to even it out.

ok well should my car be off a 1/2 inch that seems like a bit dont you guys think. The right side of the car is 1/2 inch higher than the left.

Dude, we all have that. I for instance have some Tein S-techs and the driver side looks pretty nice and squat but the passenger side looks raised up (noticeably).

What I have been thinking of doing is swapping out the springs from left to right and vice versa (like tire rotation).

I don't mean to sound like an a$$ but if this actually IS what you are talking about, you are making yourself look like quite the fool.

It's almost asking if the Z can have 3 turbos or if there is such a thing as high performance windshield-wiper fluid.

Edit: How much do you weigh and how long have you had the car?

go on a diet or sell the car... that will settle the leaning issue :)

how difficult is it to switch the stock springs left and right?

Shouldn't be difficult and any shops or auto repair business can do it.

If they started working on your car right away, they could be done in about 20 minutes, maybe less.

ok i just finished switching my springs the car is still sitting a 1/2 inch higher on the right side then the left any other suggestions. I don't think im looking like a fool now that the car is still leaning after switching the springs out any other ideas. I don't see how in anyway this is a stupid question i haven't had any problems with the suspension on my other cars like this so i figure why the z. To answer the question i have had my car for a little over a year i bought it from the nissan dealership here in austin texas and i weight right at about 200lbs.

well if this is the way the car sits im just going to buy a set of adjustable coilovers anyone have a good idea of a decent pair of these. Im trying to find something somewhat affordable but not to expensive.

Give the springs time to settle into their new locations.

Switch your car to right hand drive for a year and it will sit lower on the right side since you will be sitting in the right seat now....then switch back to left hand drive when it starts to sit low on the right side......Its in the owners manual and covered under warranty.

You could shim/trim the upper spring seat to get it even. Others have been trimming the rear spring seat to lower the back of their cars.

sounds like Nissan optimized the suspension for NASCAR... yeeeee haaaaaaaw!

(not.. I detest nascar.. but if it leans to the left.. maybe... )
