I'm looking to replace the oem pads on my 06 track (so Brembo package), and I'm having some troubles figuring out exactly which pads I should try out. To give you guys the whole picture, the majority of the time I will be drinving the car on the streets, with some cold weather driving even during the winter, although I will use my beater in the worst of the D.C. winter. The kicker is, I will want to use these for an HPDE day or two when I can get out to the track.

Just going on some user reviews I've seen I'm considering Endless CC-X, although I'm concerned I may be going with something a bit too agressive for street use. I'm looking for feedback on these, the CC-A, and any others you folks might think fit the bill. Hawks are out as I don't like the idea of going with a softer response and a pad that won't stand up well on the track. I'd like to find the most streetable pads available that can live through a couple of track days. Rotor and ear friendliness are considerations as well. So, lets hear your thoughts.

get the nismo pads. work great. Or get the project mu's.

I've definitely considered the Nismo pads, but I thought their temp rating didn't look like they would hold up too well on the track. I may be mistaken, I'll take another look at them.

edited to add: They do look better then I originally thought...still looking for more feedback

Look into some Endless SuperSport - Streets. They have a lot higher temperature range than OEM pads. Brake dust is minimal. I've used them for over a year now on 4 HPDEs and two dozen autoX events and they're holding up pretty good.

Just the info I was looking for on the endless daytona350z, thanks for the response and the link to your take on the cc-a's. DavesZ#3, it's responses like yours that had me looking at the CC lineup in the first place. I think at this point I'm 90% sold on cc-a. I think I'll wait until the weekend to place an order just to allow more feedback to come in, but I do appreciate your posts.

yeah i understand, just the cc-a's are the new "model" type deal:)

i had hawks and hated them so much. Their initial bite is horrible. It feels like you can't brake in time most of the time. They also have to heat up before braking feels somewhat good. I switched to Axxix ultimates and their awesome. Initial bite is hard, it kinda dust if you go without a wash for a week but is worth it. Much much better.

That's the reason that I passed up the Hawks. While researching them, I ran across a number of posts by guys complaining about the poor initial bite, the poor stopping power in cold or wet. They were real popular when they first came out, probably because they were one of the first aftermarket pads for the Z. Apparently it didn't take long before people were turned off by them as you don't really hear as many people touting them as in the past.

One thing I don't like about the CC-A vs the SSS is that the temperature range starts a lot higher on the CC-A pads. That doesn't seem good for normal everyday street driving.

In all honesty its a bit misleading. I have the CCX on my car, and they are FAR better than the DS2500 I was using previously - yet the temp ranges wouldnt lead you to believe that

yup, they are bad in cold and wet. Most people probably wouldn't care about braking just as long as they brake...but there was quite a difference from upgrading to hawks. I'm not sure what i'm goign to try next. It's time for me to buy soem aftermarket rotors and is the best chance for me to try something new. I was thinking about the endless or project MU. I don't seem to believe that the nismo are really good. I'm kinda iffy about factory performance parts. Usually they are just a bit better than stock. I want a company that specializes only in brakes.

NISMO are hands down one of the best all around pads you can get for the car, and very well priced, very low dust, no noise. Nothing but good reviews

I am very satisfied with my ebc yellows. integral shims and break in coating. no noise and cheap.

I vote Nismo or Endless

enless ss will be my next pads. I have had 350evo race compounf for track, and hawk hps for street and I am going for a better street soon.

I almost got into an accident due to the HAWK pads. It was raining out and I just started driving the car. I was coming up to a light right when it changed, the person in front of me braked kinda hard and so did I but my car kept going. I was lucky and didn't hit her but I was inches away from the bumper.

Also once they are warm I get this squeak every time I brake for about a second or so.

On a different note I have abused the hell out of them for the past couple of years putting about 40k miles and they still have a lot of life remaining. Also there is virtually no dust which is a plus for me b/c cleaning my rims is a PITA.

So in the end I have mixed feeling about the HAWK pads, would I buy another set? NO

Great info in this thread guys. I am leaning toward CC-A fronts and maybe the SS for the rear just cause the CC-A are too pricey for the rear IMO. Keep the responses coming though, not gonna order 'til Sunday.
