Took about 3 hours with air tools. I ended up having to get a spring compressor to get the new springs back in. They were easy enough to get out but I don't see how anyone could get them back on without a compressor, theres like a 3 inch gap you have to close to get the nut back on. The rears only took maybe 20 minutes per wheel.

looks good! now for some wheels!

my05350z Dec 29, 2007 04:14 PM

how is the ride? what you expected?

Nice. I've got an '07 as well and have some GF210's sitting here waiting for me to install them. I've just been lazy. :icon18: Are you planning to do the "spring mount mod" as well to even out the rear?

that king cobra looks so good. I love that stuff. 40oz for $1.39 FTW.

I've only driven it maybe 5 miles but I think it actually feels better than stock. Totally not what I expected. Although I did notice my camber is off quite a bit, now I gotta spend some more money! Anyone recommend a decent kit?

Ive heard of what you're talking about, but never looked into what it involves. Anything with the rear is a piece of cake since its so quick to disassemble.

Here's the thread from the DIY section: https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-suspension-diy/246148-diy-cutting-rear-springmount-aka-the-springmount-mod.html.

Looks great- now get some 25mm spacers all around to bring those wheels out and you'll be set.

Also be on the watch for your rear camber, check for uneven tread wear on the inside of the wheels.

Did you have it aligned yet? I wonder what all i'll need with those springs to have proper alignment.

Usually the front isn't a problem, but the rear with the GF210s usually drops too much to get the camber back into spec without a rear camber kit.

What kit can I use for this? I dont want something tricked out for racing, i just want to bring it back to stock range. I've been searching for kits and they range from like 80-800 bucks. Has anyone used these bolt kits where you dremel out the mounts? Seems somewhat cheesy but the cheap way to go.

Looks nice. Just get a set of SPC rear camber/toe kit. Its being sold all over the place for under $200.

We put the front springs on without the spring compressor.
It was done with the car's weight.

You must have had it apart farther than I did, because I did try that for about 15 minutes but was never even close of clearing the lower arms, so I said screw it and got the tool. Free rental from Autozone.

nice.. looks like my car. the rear will settle more. I have a 07 with gf210s.. silver alloy too. The ride eventually will get worse.. it's inevitable. I need coils soon..

Looks real nice.

Posted this in the other forum but thought Id throw it here too since its my thread! I ordered the SPC camber kit for like 169 I think, should be here monday.

Nexx Jan 5, 2008 09:21 PM

you can get it aligned close enough. a little negative camber isnt a terrible thing to have.
