SPC a-arm install, spindle nut doesn't work
 

Even though I fixed the problem by using back the factory nut. Just wondering if anyone else had a small issue with the spindle nut that came with the kit. Looks like a kings crown. Not sure of actual name.

But I went to install and tighten and the nut was to small. It just started to pull up into the steering pivot arm, where the conical bushing was. The nut is to small. What's up with the supplied nut of SPC's kit? I quickly undid and being the stock nut was the proper one, I just used it back. No issues. Anyone else have this issue or know something about it?

I had the same problem. I had the kit installed about 10 months ago, never had any problems until yesterday. Drove over train track (30mph) or slower not sure...my A-arm popped out of the steering pivot arm. I was pissed cause my cousin said the guy who installed it didn't put a washer with the SPC nut they gave...i forgot if it came with one or if it even needs one...? So your saying the factory nut will fit with no problem? i should probably get an alignment after i install the factory nut huh? :confused:

That's right. No washer came with my kit. So I just but back in place the stock nut. Worked perfect. Yes, you will defiantly need a alignment.

So happens that IS called a Crown Nut and Id call SPC and have a little chat with them

I just bought this and I'm preparing fro the installation...

do you have pics of this nut ? more details of what I should do to install it correctly...

I know that I will have to buy the metal conical lower ball joint seat bushing...

I never had pics of this. And my car was totaled not to long ago, so no pics. Your kit might come with the right one, I don't know. But in my case it was safe to use the factory nut back onto the spindle.

You don't have to buy another conical bushing. Just rent or get a small gear puller to pull off. Very simple.
