ST stage 2 for non brembo Q's

Background information:

I have a 03' non-brembo

Want to add additional stopping power

Plans will be to have twins within 2yrs

Will occasionally track/ autocross but mostly street duty

Question: going with the stoptech stage 2 package for non-brembo, will this bridge the gap between bbk and stock set up. In reality is this enough stopping power for 5-600hp? Any feedback on usage or other people using non-bbk with FI?

I would say no. The ST Stage II kit is for street use, it is definitely not what I would consider track worthy. Autox, maybe... Depending on course set up.

The axxis pads that come with it are absolute garbage, IMO. I would swap those out at the very least if you get the full front/back setup.

I still have the rear ST stage II on my car, but the front was upgraded to an AP 6 piston BBK after I realized there was no saving the OEM setup, with or without the stage II kit.

Did you consider going to the brembo stock calipers with upgraded rotors/pads when you made your change? why,why not?

I have been trying to find a stock brembo rear setup for a while. Most people only sell the fronts or want to sell front and back together. I think it would be an ideal setup for the price coupled with my front AP kit.

I really dont see the need for a rear BBK if you have the OEM brembos on, unless its for show or a serious dedicated racecar.

Bottomline, the ST stage II kit is nice for the rotors and s/s lines, but the pads are a no go for anything beside street use. The fade I experienced with them from any sort of aggressive driving was just unacceptable. If I were you, I would save the $500 or so a front/back ST stage II setup costs, and use it towards buying someones OEM brembo setup.
