Bumpy ride on new GF210's

Car seems to rattle CONSIDERABLY more with the new springs. What's likely to be the problem here?

SuperBlack350z Mar 21, 2008 09:12 PM

bad shocks.

Abishop Mar 21, 2008 09:58 PM

most lowering springs are stiffer, thus leaving you with a stiffer ride.

350ZPK Mar 22, 2008 07:40 AM

How many miles on the shocks?

redlude97 Mar 22, 2008 11:32 AM

progressive springs+old shocks=bumpy ride

not really for the Z

Sick Z Mar 22, 2008 11:49 AM

Did you install correctly? I had the GF210s and the car's ride didn't feel much different from stock.

+1 just a little stiffer

Yeah it shouldn't rattle too much...but maybe the shocks could be the culprit.

No idea - handed it over to a mechanic who did the work for like $150. Cheap guy, but I've used him a few times before and he's been ok. It's a *LOT* bumpier though - to the point where it starts getting to you. Oh and 100,000km on the shocks.

nothix Mar 22, 2008 09:31 PM

I'm sure your shocks are gone =(

Sick Z Mar 23, 2008 08:00 AM

Yup shocks are probably gone. I think I remember someone having the same issue with the GF210s, and the installer had installed the springs backwards! The tighter compressed coils should be on top.

SuperBlack350z Mar 23, 2008 11:27 AM

I don't think people understand. Just slapping some lowering springs on your car , you aren't going to get the best ride. Most people will praise the manufacture how great their springs were on the day after the install saying how smooth it is. Get back at me two months later when your stock shocks are blown. Shocks can be new or old.

350ZPK Mar 23, 2008 12:59 PM

Two months and they are blown? Yeah i dont think so, i've seen people get 15k + outta there shocks with the GF210's. Really depends on road conditions, since the roads out here arent to bad..im gonna expect 10-15k outta these stock ones. Once they blow, i will get Tokico or something.

terrasmak Mar 23, 2008 02:12 PM

66,000 miles on the stock shocks , they are toast.

d!abolic Mar 25, 2008 05:27 PM

How much am I looking to spend for new shocks?

350ZPK Mar 25, 2008 06:08 PM

75 a piece ...look on thezstore.com
