Brake Squeak?????
Hey guys,
I have an '05 Track with brembos. The right rear brake has been sqeaking the past few months and for some reason I can't find the problem. I have taken it to all the dealerships in my area to resolve this. And everytime they tell me the same thing. "There is no problem with the brakes" But as soon as I drive out of the parking lot it starts to squeak.
Anybody with OEM Brembos have this problem? The squeaking is starting to get worse and worse everyday.

I have it too. There is a problem with the right-rear Brembos on both Z's and G35c's (those that have Brembos). I've talked to other owners and it's the same issue.
Dealers can't find anything wrong. Mechanics can't find anything wrong. Pads don't seem to help.
My best guess at this point is that it has something to do with the parking brake. I think I heard someone say that it actually uses the right-rear and maybe something is just too loose or tight?
I dunno what it is but you're not alone.

2 possible problems:
I'm not sure what type of pads come with the Brembos, but high performance pads have been known to squeak.
The more likely problem. Your pads have crystalized. This happens sometimes under constant heavy breaking. I do not know what your driving habits are like, but it is possible. There's nothing you can do about this other than replace them. LMK how everything works out.

Yea thats what the dealer told me that the pads are some compound that often squeak. But the thing is how come they all don't squeak if thats the case. But only 1 damn side and constantly at that.
Yea my GF drives the car mostly and I doubt shes slamming on the brak...wait a minute...brb I have some interrogating to do. LOL

0TRACK5, it sounds like we're in the same boat here. I'm really desperate to fix this problem b/c it's absolutely ridiculous. If the dealership isn't going to help, what kind of recourse do we have? I don't know jack about brakes, so i'm totally lost and completely desperate

The squaking doesn't really bother until I pull up to a light and it squeaks so loud that everybody turns arounds and stares at me. Its so embarassing.

Ask youself what a squeek is? A sound made by vibration of the pads in the clips and a modal vibration of the rotor............that happens at slow speed.
Or at least the vibration frequency lowers into the audible range where you can hear it.
Did it squeek brand new or was some wear needed before you heard it. What changed brake dust and the lubricant on the shims, the clips themselves changing from heat?
Knowing the frquency spectrum of the squeek helps in eliminating it.

I've had just about enough of this, so i called Nissan corporate today to complain about the 2 dealerships I've been to (Michael Jordan and Southern States in Raleigh, NC) and to hopefully get someone w/ an actual brain to figure out what the hell's going on.

And please keep us informed with what NissanUSA has to say about this.

Mine did the same thing for the first few thousand miles... slow stop made a high pitched squeak every now and then. Eventually it subsided somewhat, but they still can get a bit noisy every now and then. My stock pads are almost gone in the front though, and i will definitely be replacing them with something different.
