car raised after springs
so today i droped my car off to get lowerd (tanabe NF210) + spc rear camber kit installed. when i go to pick it up the car looks taller than when i dropped it off. I was going to have it aligned, but i figured i should wait. When the car was stock it had a 3 finger gap, now it is almost 4????? should i get it aligned now or wait? the guy who did it says it will settle, but that much? i drove about 10 miles home and it is still the same as when i picked it up. thanks

3 finger gap is pretty low for a stock Z. Mine is more than a hand high on stock suspension. You sure it wasn't already lowered?
yes the car is stock. i forgot to mention that i have wheels 20x10.5 +20.
also what color are the nf210? the ones i have are purple. i thought they should be blue? |
purple wtf??? i just got tanabe nf210s from jim at showstoppers and they are red. my homie also has red nf210s.

3 possibilities...
Car was already lowered or Springs need to settle (takes 2 or 3 days to settle ~90% in the springmounts or Installed springs that were different than the ones you thought were being installed. |
i hope it settles.. the springs are the ones i gave them, i can see them. also should i have it aligned now or wait. my toe is pretty bad.

When I installed my GF210's I noticed a drop right away...it was noticeable without settlling. Also your NF210's are suppose to be -1.3F -1.3R (mine are -1.0F). Hopefully your installer didn't install them with the rears in front and vice versa or upside down.
sounds like you installed them upside down
dude, first of all, those springs should not be purple. wtf... something is wrong.
if for some reason thats correct, and you got limited edition purple springs, then they are installed upside down or something. |
well the box says nf210 and has a pic of a purple/blueish color spring on it. is it possible that the spring was maybe for another car that i have?? mabe a g35?? or would the g35 springs work anyways?? thanks guys
Where did you buy the springs?
i bought them from a local guy. came new in the box
Try looking up the spring serial number. If everyone has red, dosent seem right that yours are purple.
after a little searching i find out that these may be for a g35. f%$#@.... the box says 350z but the purple was for the G. i have the worst luck. I guess they will never settle.
yep you have the wrong springs bud. Your setup should look like this once lowered and they settle. pictures of my 19 setup and my 20inch setup!!

sucks!!! now go beat the guy who sold you the wrong product!
yeah i am ordering the right ones tomorrow. not gonna pay the shop this time. I think i might keep the front springs in because they look just like the ones in the pic. Looks like i have to go to auto zone and rent a spring compressor. how long for rear spring install?
but springs for the G35 and the 350z are pretty much the same... from what I've read... they are pretty much interchangeable. Just differs in comfort where the G is more luxurious and the Z more sport... and also I thought it takes like 2-300 miles before springs settle to the max. some one correct me if I'm wrong.
the g and the z weight differently so i dont think that can possibly be ^^^^^^
actually I just browsed online, and there are some setups for both G and Z... check on Gruppe-S online
http://www.gruppe-s.com/350z/zsus.htm You'll see that the Nismo, HKS, Tein, etc... share the same coilover system... As for springs, you'll notice the Hotchkis and RS*R are for both applications... I'm guess the others have different rates, but most likely you could use them as well. |
