SS brake lines?
 

Thinking about picking up a couple of new brake lines.
Any good recommendations on brand?

Agency Power , or whatever. Look for venders on here and order the cheapest lines available.

I've got the Stoptech SS lines.

VERY nice quality & I haven't heard or had a complaint yet. Do not get the technafits. I've seen 2 members here so far with complaints of the wrong tips being installed in the 350z SS lines.

stoptech fit perfect. came with instruction and everything.

we're talking braided ss lines. go with the cheapest you can find bro. lol

i had a set of goodridge ss lines i got on ebay for $140. they worked like any other braided ss lines i've used...


if you need brake line instructions you need a mechanic!

While not an expert, wasn't there a brand ordered by some members that came with overly-long banjo bolts? When threaded into OEM Brembo's some complained that they would not seal the copper washers and in trying to do so, one or two people broke them off (in the caliper). Depending on one's brakes, that might be a brand to avoid for some.

Go with stoptech ss lines and call it a day.

+1 on the stoptechs. You get what you pay for! Don't go cheap on modding the Z - it's not a civic.

I was leaning towards Stop Tech in the first place, just wanted to hear what everyone else thought.

Guys. We are talking braided stainless lines not fully built heads... All the same material. All the same size. All the same function. This has nothing to do with ricer modding. Get the cheapest ones you can find. So much brand repping here u'd think these were employees or something

Do you use the same logic for all parts? I mean all tires are round, black and made of rubber so they must all be the same right?

There are actually quite a few differences in brake lines from the various manufacturers, which may add value, performance, longevity and peace of mind for the buyer. You may not worry about that but many others do.

Some of the differences between offerings are the types of fittings, NPT vs Banjo, whether or not the line is coated to protect the stainless braided sleeve, whether or not the line is tested prior to shipping, if the line has a bracket to mount to the stock line locator or not, if the the line is even made to DOT specifications or not. I could go on but I dont beleive it is necessary.

BTW the quality Stoptech ones are about 1/2 short and put nice tension on the line at full lock. The other couple brands i've installed , have that extra little bit. Don't pay extra for the name, it doesn't always mean quality.
