Default urgent! uca install

Putting in kinetix ucas at the moment. But I can't get out the bolt that is holding the oem control arm to the wheel side. The bolt has a pin in it underneath the nut and I can't get the pin out. Any suggestions? And the pin is rusted and wd40 didn't help.

Thanks

I'm guessing your talking about the cotter pin on the ball joint?

Best solution would be to bend it back and forth till it fatigues and breaks, then use a small punch to hammer the remainder out.

Also get your self some PB-Blaster to dissolve some of the rust, much better then WD-40 for loosening rusted fastners.

Thanks. Got it out. By doing exactly that.

I think my entire driver side was composed of defective parts. The passenger side was smooth as silk, got the old ones out and the new ones in within 15 mins. The driver side took 4 hours... rusted pins, seized bolts and nuts, washers missing etc.. what a nightmare. Ended up having to remove the entire shock/spring assembly. But i got it done. And now time to gloat in my sense of accomplishment.
