Piecing together an Akebono Kit

So I have looked around at a few kits which were put together by some companies. None the less, I cannot say that they are offering exactly what I am looking for. I don't need SS lines and I don't like the single piece rotors and I also like to have a choice of pads. I looked around at putting together my own kit and figured I would post to see what I am missing as well as give others that are looking to do the same, some ideas. Here is what I have found. Please let me know if I am missing anything.

Calipers: $511.56 (http://www.courtesyparts.com/kb_sear...8724_8808_8809)
Adapters: $225 (http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35...oducts_id=5332)
washers: $9.96 (http://www.courtesyparts.com/41044a-...-p-637313.html)
Bolts: $6.62 (http://www.courtesyparts.com/41000a-...-z34-2009-2011)
Hardware kit: $101.80 (http://www.courtesyparts.com/41080k-...724_8808_8809&)
1 piece Rotors: $198 (various kinds)
2 piece rotors:$495.54 (various)
Pads: $95 (stoptech)

The only thing your missing is the pins and the clips.

Personally, i said to hell with courtesy and started asking some of the sites vendors for some of the small stuff

I got Hawk HP+ pads
For the hardware kit and pins i think it was Z1 motorsports or CZP. Alot cheeper then courtesy.
For the clips i went to ace. 7.07 X 8 vs .13 a piece... yeah... no brainer.
All the caliper bolts you need, should already be there or with the brackets if you get them from Z1

PM me if you need any other info

I think you got everything. If 1-piece rotors do not suit your needs why are you pricing 1-piece rotors.

The link in post#2 has your options. They have 2 piece rotors, you don't have to buy stainless steel lines and have choice of pads. I tried doing what you are trying to do (piece together). Came up short. Ended up buying the whole kit from them. Great service

why you'd not spend an extra hundo on the stainless lines confuses me.

For others to check out. When I pieced the kit together it came out cheaper than some kits which are currently available. When I searched for a thread which may have already been made regarding this topic, I found nothing. So if anyone else looks it up the info is there.

Here's a list with good Nissan Part Numbers for the kit. Format below is Qty, Part Number, Description. Part Number in () is for the optional red anniversary calipers. The spring clips are included with the factory brake pad set. The last item is optional and two last items are from Concept Z performance. Here's my disclaimer...Please verify part numbers before you order! Not responsible for any errors.

What are you looking for exactly? Why not the wilwood factory kits? One of the vendors here offers a great price on them, the rotors are two piece, and pad selection is abundant for the wilwood calipers. That's the route i'm going very soon.

I kinda have to agree with him here. If not the Wilwood kits then at least working with a current supplier who's done the work makes for a simple install and such. Just the shipping alone bringing in a half dozen different suppliers could well offset any price gains. Sure, you'll need new ss hoses with the Wilwoods....they're included..and so what? Bag $20 and some help off a buddy for helping install the new parts.

Want to go a bit out of the box?

Any thoughts on just doing just the Akebonos on the FRONTS ONLY for an 08 with standard brakes?

I ran Wilwood fronts with 06+ rears for a few months, way to much front bias. It may be possible with OEM rear Brembo though.

Thanks..kinda what I thought too... 14s are just too massive I guess. I see the rears are almost as big.

Now that you went to all this trouble to price everything needed, lets see the results. Photos appreciated.
