Default rear alignment (subframe)

Hey guys,

I bought a 2007 350z base model (clean title, 6mt, 91,000miles) about a month ago and so far i love it. It has eibach sportline lowering springs on stock struts and a hks rep exhaust. Also a very shitty ricey rear bumper lol but thats besides the point.
The z on the freeway pulls to the left alot, the pulling was mostly due to the front tires (the way they were worn). So i replaced them as well as the lower control arms and went to the alignment shop. The tech at the alignment shop was able to correct the front end but could not correct the rear. As soon as he saw the numbers on the screen and looked at the camber/ toe arms he said that the previous owner had probably crashed the car. He said that the arms were already shifted to the max amount and that something must be bent. I have researched and know that i need to get adjustable camber arms because its lowered, but he was hinting more towards the subframe in itself. none of the welds on the subframe are cracked and the subframe looks normal (but what do i know haha). camber was like driver 1.86 and passenger 2.3
toe was 11/16 and something else i didnt really look cause he was talking to me.

has anything like this happened to you guys before?

where could i find a 07 subframe?

As far as I can tell without exact measurements, the hub knuckles look straight and the toe arms look good aswell.

p.s. my steering wheel is crooked now because he said that in order to straighten it he would have to would **** with the front alignment cause he compensated for the rear.

PLEASE HELP haha thanks in advance for your input

edit: tech said it was toe'd out about 1 inch

Z's are unibody... What are you going to do with a subframe?

You're better off ditching the car if it's that far gone...

dropping the subframe isn't a big deal, i have done it to swich out bushings on my friends z. so worst case i can see is to find a subframe from a total z that has front end damage and switch it out.

we dont even know if its the subframe yet either.

Toed out an INCH?!

This is taken directly from the FSM for the 2007 Z:

An inch of toe-out is a sad joke.

Was this a private sale? If you bought from a dealership did they give you any sort of limited warranty?

Thank God I bought my Z CPO.

Good luck OP.

OP there are more underlying problems if your car is aligning that bad, you need to get a thorough inspection

could be bad bushings. I just highly doubt a subframe is bent. Especially if the title is clean.

also, there's no reason for your steering wheel to be crooked to "correct." You'd just loosen tie rods and correct the steering alignment. Never heard of "compensation" excuse to leave a steering wheel crooked.

Recommend you going to Firestone if you have one near.

my front caster was not even remotely close on my alignment chart, as well as ride height and camber from left to right, being off. All due to bushings.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR RESPONSES. As an update I have decide to take my car into a frame/collision repair shop to have them measure everything to make sure i have no frame damage. I have found plenty of salvage yards in the area with rear subframes from z (of course front end damaged z's lol) for only $200. But i would rather spend $45 first to make sure everything is legit. The bushings from the current subframe look pretty decent. Plus there is no side to side movement and everything is pretty stiff.

right now I'm just hoping for the best

What surprises me is that the car still drives fine, ill keep you guys updated.

not bushings of the subframe. You've got about a billion bushings on the front and rear.

front and rear

rear knuckle

I'm in the same situation except that my subframe is cracked so I have to change it. But do you know any write up that shows how to drop the subframe? Ive taken off my exhaust rotors and ebrake lines and disconnected the shocks and drive shaft anything else I have to take out of the way before I take off the 4 bolts that holds the subframe and drop it? Oh btw if you end up swapping the subframe get an LSD as well since you said you've got a base model. Thats what I did. Cost me $500 for both subframe and LSD. Someone was parting out on ebay.

Ok, if anyone cares. I did some more research and got another alignment. I have installed front camber arms (spl v3), rear camber arms, and toe bolts and it has fixed the issues. I read that these three things are needed anytime you want to drop the car more than 1.5". Feel kinda stupid not doing my research but now its all fixed and ready to go!
