Aftermarket rotors that don't weigh alot

So, I had to get new rotors and pads for my 07. I look at various rotors, and see that Napa blanks are pretty cheap, but still getting good reviews. I buy them, and holy ****, these fronts are heavy. Now according to what I read here in the forum, OEM non-brembo fronts weight 16lbs, rear 12. I'm going to weigh these soon but i know they are more then 16lb. I see that Centrics Premium blanks are 22/14, but that 6lb corner weight is a lot.

Does anyone know of rotors that weigh near OEM? I asked the dealer for quote on OEM rotors, it was $120-150 per :icon14:

The rotors vary from the older setups (1-piston front caliper) and the newer setups (2-piston front caliper). The data from the list that mentions the OEM non-brembo fronts are 16lbs may be referring to the older setups.

2003-2005 1-piston front caliper: 120.42074 (16.5lbs)
2006-2008 2-piston front caliper: 120.42080 (22.5lbs)

For some reason the rear calipers also have varying part #'s - not sure why since the calipers are identical.

40206-EG000 (replaced by D0206-ZA500) - 90.15 each
43206-EG000 - 84.32 each

If you really want the OEM rotors, the part #'s are listed above. Pricing is from Nissan Parts Zone.

Carbon ceramics are pretty light....

well, for some reason that i cannot fathom, the NAPA rotors and the OEM rotor weigh the exact same at 22 lbs. So maybe the reason my car was slower is because the rotor wasnt freely moving due to the new pads, but it is now. At any rate, I did find some 12lb front rotors, but I would rather keep my $700. the rears have a 3lb difference, which isnt all that much.

thanks all!

What does it really matter? What is your goal with the car?

just to have fun, and I do track it and autocross it ocassionally. The reason I started this thread is because I thought that the fronts were alot heavier, and this was seemingly proven by how much slower the car was. But that wasnt due to the rotor (which weighed the same as OEM), but because the pads were new and not allowing the wheel to move freely like it does now.

I'll post a review on the Napa blanks later. As a DD and some autocross, I like getting at least OEM replacement rotors, all 4, for $180 total.

This is total crap, and I hope you realize that. Don't you think if your new pads "not allowing the wheel to move freely" the rotors would be red hot in a very short time?
