Suspension Question
 

Z has no "sport suspension" option. "We put the sport level into the base car," Robinson says. "We didn't waste time on a base suspension." Thus all Z's are stiff and crisp. To get additional road stickum when needed, Nissan uses bigger tires. The Track model tested also had high-performance brakes. Those are for moments — such as the Virginia track's first turn — when 110-mph straightaways kink into 40-mph hairpin turns. Front and rear air spoilers keep Track pushed more firmly down onto the road during triple-digit racetrack runs.



Is this right??? I found it in USATODAY. Then should I just get a base model and buy good breaks, lights, leather, etc after market and save money? Let me know some opinions.

Bigger brakes add more unsprung mass. The Ray's Wheels effectively cancel the addition. The Track wouldn't be quite so sure-footed with stock wheels and bigger brakes. The aero package on the track includes 3 underfloor components as well as the chin and deck spoiler and if you're going to hit triple digit speeds in excess of 120 mph, you'll enjoy the added stability.

Track model doesn't come with leather. You can install leather seating surfaces aftermarket if you want to. I believe people are doing this for about $1,000 additional right now (plus you pick your favorite color combo for personalization). The HID's I think are nice and I like them.

Just for comparison sake, if you wanted to buy, say, a Performance model then buy a complete aftermarket Brembo system and factory quality Ray's forged alloy wheels, you would have already spent just as much and not have the "Track" trim, which will increase the resale value of the vehicle. The bells and whistles make Nissan enormous profits but they aren't any more expensive to spec in the original vehicle purchase than they would be for you to buy them and install yourself. They probably cost less out of pocket if you buy them form the OEM.
