Default 350z akebono brake upgrade questions

So basically I have gotten 370z akebono front calipers I. A trade for a turbo I had lying around and am now gathering parts to install them on my 03 350z .so far I got the calipers ,concept Z adaptors ,and some AutoZone gold pads (which I plan on replacing ) .

My questions are after rtheing some of the diy's it was a little vague on what to do in situations where the pad doesn't make full contact with the rotor, whether or not to fully take off the dust sheild and what not ...ECT.....
Any pointers and suggestions on which rotors are best bang for the buck and which pads someone encould suggest ?looking for a good initial bite ,low dust and something that won't honestly break the bank.cat is used on street and drift track. Thanks in advance guys !

Big brakes and budget don't really go together. You'll need Akebono rotors (Z1 sells them) and you will have to cut the hell out of your dust shields. Front and back.

Any pad will be fine. None are really dusty if you stay away from a track pad.

I used stoptech rotors and hawk hps pads for my akebonos. Very minimal brake dust and great performance. I remember I had to cut the front shields but don't think I did for the rear

Other way around: rears must be cut off completely, fronts are fine as is. I did have to bend my fronts inward (after from the rotors) ever so slightly.

I've got Centric slotted rotors and EBC Blue pads for the track. I recently switched to Hawk HP Sport + and they squeak more then the EBCs, not really happy about that. Both are track pads and thus dust like crazy. I wouldn't spend big money on rotors there isn't much "technology" to rotors so the difference between then is mostly brand name. StopTech = Centric: http://www.stoptech.com/about/about-us

Ok sweet ,cause I already have the calipers and some autozone pads, just need rotors and lines basically .do these calipers clear up front with the stock 18" touring wheels ?will I need a spacer ?cause I see mixed responses to that .

Came out pretty nice. Although you probably should of checked for clearance first. I had to dremel my front calipers to clear RPF1s. Which are known to fit no problem.

Yes they clear just barely. Depended on where and how high any weights added to balance the rim are located. I've gotten a set of both 03 & 08 Touring wheels over my Akebonos... see pics:

I had to trim my front shields for the brackets to fit. Ended up cutting the shields off completely.

Those blue calipers look great....mind if I ask what color that is? High temp paint I'm sure, but don't recognize the color.

Thanks sincerely,
