Fender rub going over bumps
Hi everyone,
Recently I've done some modifications to my car mostly including the Tanabe GF210 lowering springs and some new wheels. Since I put these new wheels on, I get a nasty scrape sound when going over pretty big bumps at speed.
My wheel set up is:
265 35 18 rota torque hyperblack all around
I'm curious if anyone has solved this problem or could guide me in the right direction. Bad wheel choice? Are my stock shocks too soft? Rip out the fender lining? Of course going slower prevents the sound but these highway bumps
Thanks

Also, no one can tell you a thing without knowing the most critical factor.... wheel sizes? Front or rear? Offset??
If you don't supply or know what those are, go back to the link above.

OP, where is it rubbing, the rolled part of the fender or the top? With 265/35 18's I can't imagine it's the top. If it's the rolled edge, than your set wont work without adjustable upper control arms and a negative camber alignment.

Did you get it aligned when you lowered? - You should have. If you did what's the camber after lowering?

Mine = -2 camber, Lowered 1/2", 10" wheel, 275/35 18's (22mm offset)
No rubbing, even with 2 people in the car and under ax extremes.
So, either you're too low, you got your offset wrong, camber isn't what they say it is, you need more camber (need adjustable FUCAs for this) or since you now need some body work you can get your fenders pulled a bit (professionally - no mallet)
Finally, scrap the the setup and get one that's known to work.
That's all I got. Good luck
*For those thinking I'm young and shouldn't be holding the wheel at 10&2...that's my son drivin'. I'm the guy holding my breath, crossing my fingers and trying to calm him down haha
