rebuilding non-brembo brakes
 

I have been getting pad marks on one rotor after Auto-X and i notice a pulsing when braking very hard. It went away after i replaced the pads and rotors for a while but it is back again and now I'm thinking i need to rebuild the calipers but please if you have another solution I'm all ears. What my question is when rebuilding the calipers how do I handle the brake fluid? I have the Motiv power bleeder but if my logic is correct I should only need to pinch the line to remove the calipers and do a slight bleed when I reattach the calipers to get the little air bubble out that will be left there between the pinch and the caliper. Then top off the brake fluid under the hood to the correct level.

Does this sound correct? Am I missing something?

I little rubber vacuum cap(or something similar) would be a better option than pinching the line

If you are going through the trouble of rebuilding calipers, why not just flush and bleed the entire system?

You got pulsation from the old pads. If your disks are slotted then that means that fresh pads took a little time to settle into the grooves (that eventually happens) in your disks and now they're hitting the slots a bit closer. If you want to bleed the system, go for it. But unless your brakes are sticking or your pads are wearing at an angle between pistons, you don't need to rebuild the caliper.

If you do opt to rebuild, compressed air will pop the pistons out mighty quick (like seriously, aim them). Take some 1000 grit sandpaper and go over the bores before reinstalling with new clips and dust seals.
