If i have the factory brembo brakes, i understand that you need brembo pads and not the “non brembo” pads, but do you need that aswell for the rotors? I was looking at getting a set of EBC ultimax usr slotted rotors, first of all is it even a good brand/rotor and does it matter what rotor i get aslong as the sizing should fit my car?

Yes, you need Brembo specific (not brand specific) rotors. They're larger in diameter and wider than non-Brembo. Most brake mfgrs offer rotors to fit either standard or Brembo, including EBC, which is a reputable brand. And yes, it matters when pushing the car. Street application not as much but might as well get the best performance for both disciplines.

I did the Brembo conversion on my '06 G35 and went with EBC's Ultimax USR rotors since I got a good deal on them. No complaints other than the subtle "swishing" sound typical of slotted rotors. I can only hear it with the windows down and I'm in a parking deck at low speeds. The "swishing" from the Akebono BBK with slotted and cross-drilled rotors on the Z is louder.
Pardon the dirty wheel... This was right after install. The black coating comes off after bedding them.
