Default Loud Clunk when braking

I recently changed the front forward lower ball joint and lower control arm as well as the tie rod end (all stock). With everything reinstalled and torqued, I get a LOUD clunk when I apply the brakes, even at very low speed (driveway). This occurs when moving forward but not when moving backward. I checked the calipers and brake pads. There is no play in the wheel in any direction. Nothing seems loose. This problem wasn't there before. Any ideas? I've searched the forums and internet but haven't found an answer.

When you replaced the balljoints, did you swap the cones from the old joints to the new? Most balljoints don't come with cones.

The new ball joint came with a new cone. The control arm and ball joint were both OEM replacements.

Did you make sure to torque everything down with the suspension compressed?

I would just double check that everything is installed correctly; bushings, crown nuts with washers, etc...

If that's not it, could be your compression arm/ rod, or sway bar end-links. I had a similar clunk when going over bumps, it was my end-links.

I guess it's the compression rod/arm.
If you're lucky its the bushing end, if not, time to replace it/them.

I had the same thing. It was sway bar end links as mentioned above.

I get that clunk too on my G; it's the compression rod balljoint in my case. Also causes very slight "floatiness" going on/off throttle as caster shifts on the front left wheel.

I’m dealing with the very same problem on a g35x sedan, exact description word for word. The sway bar endlink was broken, replaced, same sound. The upper ball joint was bad, replaced arm, same sound. I’ve inspected the compression rod joints and low control arm joints, they appear fine. I think I may try to disconnect them from the knuckle next to be sure.

It's the compression rod ball joints if you KNOW everything else is new. You can't find the play when it's all together, by the time mine started clunking on braking I had maybe 1/16" in of vertical play. It was pretty bad.
