Opinions on TruHart/Tein/budget coilovers?

Hey all, I'm looking to get new coilovers on my 350z since my old ones wore out. Been looking a lot at the Tein Flex Z (~$800) and the TruHart StreetPlus Coilovers (~$560)
My Z is basically just a daily so I'd prefer a softer ride. I probably will never or rarely take my car autocrossing or on the track. It honestly handles well enough for me stock.

Everyone I've asked likes the TruHarts a lot, and I see a lot of good reviews on the Tein Flex Z's too. I know the Tein's have more adjustability and are made in Japan while the Truharts are made in China.

Just looking for more opinions on these. If anyone has em or any other coilovers they like under $1000 and would like to share their opinion, I'd really appreciate it.

Any reason you need coilovers?

I don’t need them, I just already have some (that are worn) and dont want to buy stock suspension. I love the adjustability of them. Like I said, I’m set on coilovers.

Get the Truharts due to the above reason. Tein has a factory in China and many of their components are made in China, if that was of concern.

Well the Flex’s are made in Japan exclusively, so thats kind of a plus.

Both budget coilovers, not sure what the concern is. Tein's reputation spend a bit more, Truhart due to reviews and comfort, save a few bucks.

Lol there’s no concern, just wanted to hear people’s opinions on them..

Between those two, Tein would be softer sprung and better quality.

BQPham 05-16-2019 05:42 AM

Tein for sure, would not put TruHarts on my car lol

if you have actual reviews from real people who have actually used truharts and theyre saying is good i dont see why not give them a try. rather than listen to blanket statements from people who never used them. jus saying. thats how i would decide

G35 on Truhart coilovers, Matt Farah had nice words for the coils.

all the new up and comer suspension brands you see popping up are most likely from taiwan/china or getting their parts from there. some are more open about it than others. ie meisterR, feal, etc. who ever is running these taiwan factories and just rebranding must be making a killing lol.

doesnt mean the products are no good. im sure thats how ksport/megan/bc all got their start. and whoever has the better marketing money lol.

tein opened a factory in china to be more competitive. the entry level coils are supposed to be built there ie basis z. but tein owns and runs the china factory so control is better. the higher end tein coils are still in japan

Having installed multiple sets of Tien basics for customers, they have become my go to cheap coilovers. I may even get a set for my G
