350z Brake Sticking
 

Hello, I have a 2005 350z and my brakes keep getting hot and wearing out way faster than they should. They only wear down on the rear passenger side. I have changed my brake hose, brake caliper, master cylinder, and brake clips and still have the same problem. What could be causing this?

Welcome- it could be the caliper piston on your RR brake is hanging up and needs an inspection, and possibly a rebuild. You don't mention how many miles are on your Z, or which model you have, but if it's the standard (non-Brembo) brakes a rebuild may be in order. Do a search on rebuilding the calipers with new O-rings and dust boots and you're sure to find a few DIY threads here.

It is a brand new caliper.

So, this problem existed both before and after your replaced the brake caliper?

I'd take a closer look at that corner. Specifically, the pad wear and what it shows. Is it worn down uniformly, or is there a taper to the wear pattern? Is it possible something was improperly installed to cause the RR caliper to hang up? Are there any ABS codes showing up when you scan the car?

The driver side was doing the same thing but when I changed the caliper it fixed it on that side. But when changing the caliper on the passenger side did not help it. Could it be a faulty caliper? No codes show up.

Just covering the basis, you didn't mention changing the brake rotor.
With all that in mind, you might be guessing right, the new caliper may be bad, but you can try it by moving the caliper and pins, see if it's all lubricated.

I have experienced the problem you describe, and the fault was a sticking caliper (as dkmura mentions in an earlier post). In one case the caliper seized from debris (this was on a Saab); the other time I had a caliper problem was a poorly fitting sleeve.
