Default Thinking of buying a Z

Hi guys, im guessing this is the best forum for 350Z's so I figured id come to you guys with some questions.

I just bought my 2002 TL-S w/ Navigation 2 months ago, but since then I have fallen in love with the 350Z. Now, what is the best year to get and what are the differences in models. I have looked around and there are a lot of 03's for sale at decent prices (low 20's). I can really only afford to spend what I sell my TL-S for which im guessing is 20-21,000. What are some things I should look out for when buying, and :gulp: until I learn manual, how good is automatic?

try and get an '04 if you can. i have an '03 and there a few bugs that were mostly worked out in the following years models (i.e. having to hit the hatch button twice, window streaking, tire feathering, etc.). i doubt you'll find a used '05 in the 20k range but good luck. also, the auto and manual trannies are about a tenth or two off from each other performance wise (with the manual getting the slight edge). however, their have been numerous manual trannies that had to be replaced and just a hand full of autos that i know of (but dont let that dissuade you from getting the manual).

does the auto have a tiptronic offering? I mean honestly, this car is so F'ing hot looking. Theres one in my town with Jersey plates with a devils logo that read "u lose," its red with rims. Does anyone own that one this forum? Also, does any one regret getting only a 2 seater as your daily driver? How is it in the snow? Can anyone else give me pros and cons to this vehicle. Any engine or transmission problems?

Yes, very fun and responsive shifting in 0.2 seconds with a flick of the wrist.

i dunno about the red z; never seen pics of it on here (although i've seen a ton of pics of red z's with wheels on here so it's hard to say). sometimes i wish i had back seats but i would take the z over the g. the z sucks in the snow, imho. alot of people just throw a set of blizzak tires on and they think it does pretty well. there a ton of pros and cons to this vehicle (like any other car), so just do some looking around and i'm sure you can decide. also, it depends on what you consider a pro and a con.

Well if you ask me, I just bought mine a month ago...I love it! I was shooting for an Audi TT or Boxter but the Z is a GREAT car. The 05 seems to be problem free so far, plus it comes with more standard features like seatbelt arm, heated side mirrors, and a softer clutch. I'm sure the 04's are good too but I'd stay away from 03's. No offense to the 03 owners.
