If you get one with tire feathering, it'll last the life of the vehicle... you're better off just saving until you can buy a 2005 or 2006 model. Way less problems thus far on 2005s. In fact I don't know why people with all their tire feathering, window streaking problems don't just trade in their 2003s for 2005s and keep ******** about their problems...

mine was fixed under warranty. You can still drive a car with featherd tires, it is not a safety issue

go for it. there are some 40,000 2003 Z's on the road...can they really be that bad? I have an 03 and have had all of the problems. And it's really no big deal if you are under warranty and have the time and patience to work out the minor issues.

The 04.5's and the 05's have a few inprovements over the 03 and early 04's. I wouldn't rush into a 03 Z just to have one. If you can save a little moreand find a used 04.5 you might be headache free.
That being said there are some people on this forum who have 03's and never had a problem.

Take a ride in it , and look at the tires. Shift the tranny hard through the gears. Make sure the tranny is good, that is another possible issue with the 03's, but Nissan will fix it.

Good luck

I have had no real problems, only the small ones. Window streaks, clicking in rear axle, bad window motor... Tire feathering hasn't been an issue. If you're going to buy an 03, try to get it asap so you can get these issues fixed before the 3 year warranty runs out. I only have about 6 months left on mine.

good point here, i just bought mine used, Nissan is replacing the tranny but since the car has 32,000 miles they wont replace the tires. ouch. oh well still got a sweet deal.

No problems with my 2003. If you do find your car feathers, I THINK upgrading the suspension and realignment may fix it too... A basic set of TEINs run around $750USD.

Extended warranty won't help with the tires, but will give you piece of mind.

Not only upgrading to TEIN's but changing tire brands help as well.

I think you should be able to get them to at least 30k out the door. I got my base '05 for 26.5k out the door and my buddy just got an '05 touring for 33k. Do some more research and take in some other dealer prices makes them drop real quick.

I got my 2005 enthusiast fully loaded with aero kit, side airbags, alum kick plates and splash guards for $30,545 out the door. Try to start a dealer war with another dealer in the area, and get one of them to bite.

Look at the price you are paying before tax & license. If it is $1000 to $2000 below MSRP it is a decent deal. How much more you can get it reduced depends on the time & energy you want to put into buying a car.
