Will Nissan have another incentive on the 2005 Z's?

Nissan currently has a $1000 rebate to the dealers on 2005 350Z's. This, combined with the $500 recent grads discount and the fact that the 2005's can be had for right around invoice, if not even up to $500 under invoice from what I've heard on this board, have put the 2005 Enthusiasts (what I want) just into my pricerange.

The exact Z I want (2005 Daytona Blue Enthusiast) is available about an hour and a half away from me. Now, here is where the situation gets a bit sticky. I will be graduating in mid January, and already have a full-time job setup that I will begin at on January 1st. The problem here is two-fold. For starters, I highly doubt I'll be able to get a loan (let alone start making payments) until I start work in January. I also need a little bit of time to sell my Jeep so that I can use the money I get from that as a down payment on the Z.

Again, the Z only fits into my pricerange because of all the stars aligning, with the 2005's coming at or below invoice right now, the education discount, and the $1k rebate getting the 2k5 enthusiasts down to around 28k OTD. The big problem is of course that the $1k rebate expires in less than a week (Oct. 31st). This unfortuntately could be a dealbreaker for me (I know 1k doesn't seem like a lot into a 28k automobile, but it makes a large difference here).

So I guess my question is, will Nissan be coming up with another equal or better incentive on the 2005 Z's when this one expires? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me to end the incentives when the 2006's are just getting even closer and more abundant.

I know no one "knows" whether there will be another incentive or not, but I'm just kind of trying to get a feel for it based on your best informed guesses, since you all have a lot more experience with new cars than me (none). Does Nissan (or other car manufacturers even) usually follow up one incentive with another if it's on a model year that is on its way out?

Thanks in advance.

i doubt they will put anymore of an incentive on them...there are not that many left. Are you talking about the entusiast in my inventory(daytona)? Btw there is no college grad discount on the z. Its only on a few models...sentra, altima, frontier, pathfinder, xterra and you have to finance through Nissan for a term no longer than 60months. For a lease it just waves security.

You have a lot on your plate now, and I recommend that you set priorities: graduation is number one. I assume that you're about 23 years old, and will learn that nothing in the future (I got a job lined up) is certain. Graduate, get a job, dump the Jeep and get a 350Z. Will Nissan have “deals” in the near future that are as good as they are now? Yes. I’m 100 percent certain. The terms rebate, college discount and “sale” are synonyms for the same buying philosophy; that is, negotiate. So return in February when you're ready to buy, and you, I and the other form members will help you get the Z that you want at a price that you're willing to pay. See you then.

i'd actually like to correct that I was referring to the Nissan College grad REBATE, not discount. Anyone can have a discount, the rebate is actually a cash gift from the factory and has nothing to do with the dealership

Concerning the $1000 rebate, I remember in September when I first read about it that it was set to expire back then. I later saw that once it had expired, another one that was exactly the same popped up with an expiration date of a month or so (may have been this current one). It's been going on for a while now so it's uncertain whether it will still be around in Feb, but it may just be a tactic to make people think they only have a limited amount of time to capitalize on it when in reality they will just have another one once it expires.

nissan sets the incentives up to expire pretty much monthly. they sometimes update them during the month, but they are still only good until generally the first business day of the following month or sometimes they hold them over for a weekend like labor day or the 4th.

the nissan near me always gives incentives on every model. This month is a gas card. Free gas for one year. S I geuss it depends on the dealership

there will be bigger incentives on the 05's in 06, I got my 04 in april of 05 and the rebate was 2k, so i imagine they will do the same thing again. Put a 2k rebate on in around march and have it until like july then they will say screw you to the dealers that still have any left and they will have to find a way to get rid of it on their own. That was how it was this year for the 04's.

I think THIS yr is/will-be different....From what I've seen in my state, there's a greater lack of supply of '05s than there were of '04s this time last yr...

Yeah, waiting would be a good decision if you are going to graduate soon. Get your job in the beginning of the year, and put a fat down payment on your car along with the trade in. Graduate and make lots of $$$$ good luck.
