Thats only because "the drift king" Keiichi Tsuchyia, performed a flawless drift in the end corner. Not allot of drivers can do that...... if any one else was driving the Z would probably have finished 1st.. At any rate.... when the Z and M3 are on the same track its always a good race...... anyone remember the 350z shock video.... the regular 2003 track model won the checked flag on that race.....
Although the M3 made the pass on a straight, it closed the gap a little bit on each turn and braking section in the last two laps (especially in turn 1, 7 and 8 of the 5th lap). That drift wasn't until after the M3 passed the Z, and Tsuchiya only drifted the last turn because of the line he was forced to take since he had just made the pass. You can tell that it was not an ideal line because of how close the Z stayed to the M3 on the corner exit.
Don't get me wrong, though. The Nismo 350Z is definitely an impressive car.
I would go for the Nismo. I have an 07 Z (touring)which I bought brand new and it has the GT wheels and Brembos so now you could say I have a GT. I'll tell you this much I went to my local dealership for an oil change and they have a black Nismo and I would trade it but dont want any car payments. The Nismo is badass when you see it in front if you.
