about to buy a Z
Edit: didnt make sense and i sounded mildly retarded.
Ok, what i meant to say was im thinking of purchasing a i belive a 2005 Track edition (like bare minimum of everything, cloth seats no navi BUT it has brembo breaks.) the car has just under 60k miles on it and has only a cat back exhaust. the car salesman said someone local traded it in, i asked was this so and so's car and he said yes. Now i know for a fact he took care of it cause i know the kid. i was just wondering on what you take is on a 350z with high milage. do they self destruct at 100k and do you guys feel insurance would be much different compared to a srt-4, which i might pick up instead.

Nicee..I might be buying myself one too. Only I think I would mod more than just the exhaust and intake and instead of an SRT-4 I am looking at an EVO. I took a test drive in the 350 and I loved it, but I haven't driven a EVO yet. The EVO appeals to me because its AWD and you can make it crazy fast for less, but the 350z done right is an amazing car...and you don't have to drive unwanted people around.

ha, my friend has a ~600 hp evo 9, things are absolutly amazing. just if you get a MR, if you do alot of heavy HP modding get the 5 sp tranny. they are build much better and you wont regret it.

well considering i did help in doing research on the car and the fact that I probably drive it just alittle less then he does (he makes me drive cause he likes when other people drive) I can let a fellow poster know how awesome and fun a Evo can be when done right. Ive been reading alot of other post's and you say nothing but negitive and useless advice to people. It's ok though, every forum has one of you in them. Im just really excited im about to buy this car and wanted to know the input from people who may have had them for years. alittle friendly advice can go along way man.

plenty of members have z's with over 100k on the odometer and plenty say "she still pulls strong like the first day" so no on the self destruct... your insurance is based on your driving record and your age... since you already have one thing going against you, i would say your rate will, at the BARE MINIMUM, be $100/month and probably much closer to $200/month, unless you're on your parents insurance

ive owned both, my srt was very fast after modding, went 11.8's on slicks in the quarter and daily drove the car with a 50 trim turbo kit ...but anyway i love my z, much nicer car and just overall better built, handling, its not wrong wheel drive, downside is no back seat, which i have actually learned to like and overall get a z!!! little money into it supercharge or turbo it and its also a very fast car..i just finished up my vortech z check the thread out... i see NY where u at..im upstate
