You should really provide more info other than the mileage and year, we really can't help you based on the description you've provided. Do you have the VIN? Name of the dealer? CarFax? Links? Anything?

This is his description of the car.....
"2003 Nissan 350z- 6 speed with power brakes, power windows, power doorlocks. Its an everyday driver and has 99,800 miles but runs great. I am a former mechanic and the car is maintained very well. It has very minor dings on the outside but overall it is well cared for. I still owe on the car and that is why i am asking $9,000 but the car is worh it. Very fun to drive."

get it inspected by a mechanic (not him), if it passes and the price is legit and the title isn't salvage, then go for it.
you need to take all the precautions you can when it comes to a 9 grand car. if he won't let you have a mechanic inspect it, or if the title isn't clean, avoid it.
the miles aren't a huge concern but you'll probably have to replace the wheel bearings at some point.if you are buying a higher mileage z out of cost concern, you are in for a shock when you have to replace parts.

Whats the downside to buying a salvage title Z? Besides the obvious that its prolly been wrecked already. But what about insurance and build up? I would prolly keep my Z for a long time once i get one.
