2008 Touring 350z

I'm looking at a 2008 white 6 speed Touring 350z .

it only has 36k miles on it but the dealer told me the tranny was replaced.

it has a limited warrenty and asking price is 17k plus tags and tax

does it sound like a good thing that at such low miles the tranny was replaced?

Sounds fair enough. Maybe the original owner abused the MT, or maybe the dealer is confusing the issue with a replacement of the clutch hydraulic system, which is fairly common on the HR cars. Any pics? Is the car otherwise stock? Did you get a CarFax? Are you sure it's really a "Touring" trim car? Dealers always try to bump up the trim level a few notches, i.e. a Base becomes an Enthusiast, an Enthusiast becomes a Touring or GT, etc. Can't trust them. Post pics if you want the truth.

The Touring should have heated leather seats, Bose, Auto dimming rearview mirror I believe, and cruise control.

If it all looks good it sounds like a good deal. Replacement transmission is not a big deal.

I have an 08 with 26k miles on it but when it had 22 the dealer replaced the tranny because of the input shaft noise that they all have when you release the clutch. I then took it to a different dealer because the noise was still there and they said they probably replaced it for no reason because everything seemed quite good and normal.

When the tranny was replaced, was the master cylinder replaced along with the slave cylinder as this can have major implications further down the road if they weren't all done!!!

its touring for sure.. heated leathers seat blue tooth cruise hid lights its all white with leather seats..

things i dont like about it is the chipped up interior .. but i see this is a common problem.. I have to ask the dealer if the master cylinder was replaced.

Looks OK in the pics, and the price is reasonable. It's not the master cylinder, but the slave cylinder that's the big problem. To replace it, the transmission has to be pulled, so it's a lot of labor to replace a relatively cheap part. Really the only weak point of an otherwise very good car, and there is an aftermarket part which solves the issue.

It's the color I want .. is there some interior upgrades I can do to make it look nicer I can't stand the interior.. love the car... I used to own 240 z 280 ZX 300zx. I always liked the Z

talk to the mechanic and ask him better

$20k is way too much. You can find a nismo for that if you search hard enough.

I've also been looking at that car. OP - Have you seen it in person? Look at the pictures of its trunk. It looks like there is a slight dent on the passenger side hatch. If you decide to go for it, good luck with your purchase it's a beauty.
