I think if your budget only allows for a $6k car, you should wait until you have more saved up to get in a 350z. Sure they're great reliable cars, but it would be better to drive something in better condition with lower mileage with that six grand than to get a fairly 'rode hard and put up wet' 350z.

If you get a Z, you might as well wait until you can do it right. Any car with 160k miles- unless meticulously maintained will have issues and can quickly become a money pit.

Just my .02

The other .02 are in the hatch springs.

many things to look out for - 160k for 6k - ehhh...it's a gamble...

you can depend of fellow forum members for only so many things...your best bet would be to take it to a 3rd party mechanic and have them check it out before buying...

You should also look up your local Z club and talk to some of the owners who own Z33s there.

Plenty of Z owners in the DFW area that I know who are still there.

I don't think this is a Base model. It has the leather interior and steering wheel controls. I suspect it is a Touring model. At that price, I would be concerned if the car comes with a rebuilt title.

No switches left side of the steering wheel.

If you only have a 6k budget and have nothing else left over for maintenance, repairs, or insurance, pass. Assuming no major issues and you have 9-10k then ask for 5k and use the remaining 4 for any minor issues.

Guessing on it being an Enthusiast or Performance Trim based on cruise control on wheel but no stereo control on left side of wheel (which is standard on Touring).

OP, look at left hand dash controls (knee level)....

If it says TCS, it's an Enthusiast

If it says VDC, it's a Performance model.

"Most likely", not absolute.

Does not look like a cc wheel to me, Mine had radio buttons on the right, nothing on the left.

Regardless, it is a high mile car that is sure to have issues.

Too many miles and **** wheels stood out. Probably a kid who abused the hell out of it. Keep looking. Sad that you can buy a Z for 6,000 these days.

I just bought a 04 touring for $13 k. She has a strong engine and a solid quiet tran. (6 sp manuel) No matter what, look for strong engine--solid tran in whatever Z you choose. The rest is manageable $$.
