Hello fellow Z owners.
Im thinking about upgrading to a 370.
I currently Have a 2008 350z
--It has 33k miles.
--Not sure the model but unfortunately its Automatic >.<
--I bought it from the insurance company, It was given a rebuilt title because of hail damage. I had all the small dents fixed nothing major and had the entire car repainted one month ago.
--Its the San Marino blue.
--The exterior and interior is a 9.5/10
--Upgraded complete sound system to Pioneer.
--Headlights are Xenon/Hid sypder blacked out w/ Daytime LED lights.
--Hyper finish silver 5 spoke rims are in great condition.
--Also changing stock rotors to slotted/drilled performance rotors.

Now the question is how much do you think I could sell it for to a private party???

Attached is a picture off google (don't have any currently) of a car that looks exactly the same as mine. As well as the Xenon headlights It now has.

THANKS !!!

Also it has a 6.5" Double Din Pioneer touch screen radio.

still has a non-clean title?
The mileage is great but an automatic is a downer...the upgrades you mentioned dont really move the needle...without really doing too much research I would think in the $12k-$13k range.

The car, as it sits is appealing to a younger crowd (with the exception of the automatic transmission) and you are gonna get tire kickers and low ballers...You should get the car back to stock as much as possible...those headlights are horrible - find OEM headlights and put them in ASAP, put the OEM stereo back in, put the OEM wheels back on keep the OEM rotors so it appeals to an older buyer who has money and is ok with an automatic transmission.

I would think you could get more (maybe $15k) from a 40year old that just got a sales bonus and wants a clean, fun, used sports car he can take is wife out saturday mornings...

as far as the non-clean title - good luck!

So wait, you start a thread a couple days about modding, and today you want to sell it?

https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-n...-upgrades.html

Well, if I was in your shoes (I actually WAS with my 04 RX8 with auto trans in 2009). I would put the car as close back to stock as bealljk mentioned. Sell the aftermarket parts you can, then sit on the car and wait for it to sell. I had mine listed nationally on AutoTrader, and when I "gave" it to my mom in Florida, it finally sold. I took a HUGE hit though because of a CEL that I couldn't diagnose from California :( Not to mention the AEM intake, HKS Single, and a couple other visual mods I could have made a few hundred bucks on.

Good luck making up your mind :P

I don't even think you'll get the $12-13,000 that bealljk thinks you'll get for it.
Nobody is going to buy a z with a rebuilt title and those mods for that kind of money.

iideadeyeii 03-19-2015 07:15 AM

I have those headlights on my Z! You're all haters!! They actually are kinda nice

Sorry but +1

Rebuilt title says to the world, "I was broke, now I'm fixed".... BROKE being the only word that sticks in buyers' heads.

Despite it being restored to pristine, concours condition.

If this was a 1970 Fairlady Z432 resurrected or something, it'd be different but....

Don't be discouraged though, put it out there and see what comes up.

drvqz33 03-19-2015 08:30 AM

I think you might have a good fair chance of selling it even though of the rebuilt title. It's hail damage, not like it was in a serious, frame messing, car accident. I know it still holds the rebuilt title but people might see past that if the price is right. As for the auto/manual thing, understand that transmission is purely preference. If that's what someone prefers to drive for whatever reason, we'll then cool. Don't let that be a deciding factor. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with your sale.

I would even buy a BROKE Fairlady Z432!

S'truth!!!

I had a RHD Fairlady *shell* a couple of years ago. Decided it was going to take FAR too much time and money to get it roadworthy for operation in CA. But I'd do that restoration if it was a 432!!! Whew!

I kept all the pictures and bill of sale stating the damage ;P

travlee 03-19-2015 06:54 PM

you will have problems selling it, not many people would buy a rebuilt title

Honestly I can't see there being that much of an upgrade going from a 350 to a 370. I would personally just turbo and in the end you'll still save more than half of what it would cost to upgrade

bith8791 03-20-2015 10:21 AM

It's a huge upgrade.

oldschool350z 03-21-2015 10:39 AM

Rebuilt strike one, those mods strike two and asking what it's worth strike three.

Look in your area to see what prices are comparable.

To have tuurbo in the z you're talking about 20-30k.

Iideadeyeii, let us know the "reliability" and power of your turbo build. I think a 100ish HP increase over stock can be done for less than 10k, but at some point internals are going to go and that's where it gets costly, especially if you do it from the get-go.

Complete godspeed kit/utec 7psi. Hasen't blown up yet. ran 12.9 at 108 1/4 mile last October with 1.9 60'(just spins through 1st...need to launch bettter), and 3rd gear synco grinds. Biggest problem is exhuast leaks. Took it apart 3 times. There is still one in there somewhere, but it's minor and I don't care

oldschool350z 03-24-2015 04:20 PM

2k for twin turbo kit? Stock internals? Jeeze that is a grenade waiting to happen
