Default Thinking About Buying This 07

Hey,
I owned an 04.5 from 2009 to 2013. I sold it in summer 2013 and regretted selling it. Now I've graduated from business school and got a job. I want to pull the trigger on a HR. I saw this '07 today. It's imported from New York. I had imported my previous 350z from California and it was super clean. Anyway, do cars in NY usually have rust? What do you think about this car by looking at the photos? I know it's an auto and for a DD auto is what suits me. We have rush hour traffic jam here in Beirut and it sometimes takes more than 1 hour to cross 10 miles.
It's an enthusiast, bone stock, 138k miles.

And photos of my 04.5

Nice to see you back. I remember your Z from a while back and some of the mods you had done to it.

How much are they asking? Miles are a bit high but the car looks to be in really good condition..

Thanks drvqz33,
They're asking $16.5k. Note that the import tax on this '07 is $5,350 here and the shipping from NY to Beirut is around $1,500.
I plan to mod the HR better than my DE

If the roads are salted it will have rust around the rear diff area. My 03 G did.

I passed, 138k is pretty high mileage and also there's corrosion on the engine cover if you guys look closely. The brakes and differential area have rust.

I found another car. It's a black '03 track edition. It's manual with brembos. I'm gonna go check it out tomorrow. This one has 86k miles on the clock and it was a trade-in at the Hyundai dealership.

Go with the manual man. You'll love it and daily driving will become a piece of cake. If everything checks, go with the 03.

Just checked the '03 out. It's in another city, 70 kilometers (43 miles) away from where I am in the capital. That's alot of distance for us LOL!
Anyway, I checked it out thoroughly. Engine, tranny and chassis are in good condition. The shifts are smooth, no clutch slipping, no white/black smoke coming out of the exhaust. I drove it for like 30 minutes and it was a blast to drive a manual Z. I got it raised and checked the undercarriage and it was clean too. I paid a down payment and will have the car on Wednesday because I couldn't pay the whole amount because there's a limit on my debit card. Anyway, all in all it's in great condition but needs some cosmetics work. A couple of sensors need to be changed as well, like the oil pressure sensor and one of the O2 sensor's wire is stripped.

Good choice.
I can't see the pics at work but will check them out when I get home, I'm jealous, I wish I would have bought a Track model when I bought my z back in '04.

Definitely a better choice than importing the '07. Enjoy!

NICE!

I love my auto '07 lol but if I had to get an older model, a low mileage track version would definitely be a priority. welcome back

I just saw the pics of your Track model, man, that thing looks like it's been abused.
They took the best part of that car, the beautiful Rays forged wheels and Brembo brakes and painted them shitty colors.

I will be returning the brembos to the original color, wheels will be changed, and it will get a new paintjob. The price I paid for the car justifies its condition.

Sounds good, you can probably make some money selling the Rays if you can return them to original condition too.
What color do you plan on painting the new z?

I plan on lowering the car, so i picked up these front coilovers and rear tanabe gf210 springs from a friend for a crazy deal.
Also picked up the megan racing test pipes for close to free..

Then i picked up thise y-pipe back exhaust. It's 3'' all the way to the y-pipe and is pretty light compared to the oem exhaust.

Gave the oem mats a good wash

Picked up a set of wheels at 1 AM in the morning. That's what happens when your shifts s*ck at work...A friend of mine picked up a set of these for his 300ZX TT and is pretty satisfied with them. They look like TE37V reps to me.

This is the rear 18x10 +25

The front, 18x9 +25

I needed to add a 2.5mm spacer to the rear, and a 15 or 20mm front spacer for the wheels to clear the brembo. Factory studs had to be shortened. (That's not me LOL)

Sad puppy at the tire shop
