How's this deal?
In the process of selling my auto for a manual and came across this:
2003
Drives Excellent has g35 cats in with only about 50000 miles on them
O2 sensors changes less than 3k
Just put Spark Plugs in less than 3k
Tires have a lot of meat.
107k miles daily driven
Back up Camera installed
Stage 5 clutch
Short throw shifter
Magnaflow catback exhaust
Radar detector
Pioneer Double din Bluetooth
Power seats
Heated seats
Cons:
Oil gauge needs reset
Passenger window needs reset
Couple scratches
Tail light cover broken
Driver seat cracking
Trunk hydraulics need to be replaced
Asking for $8300, think it's a good deal?

Good for the guy selling it... Why wouldn't he reset the window unless it has a bigger issue. New struts are like $60 and take like 30 minutes to replace... Tires have a lot of meat? As in stock 18s or ? It has used cats from a g35 because? Does magnaflow make an exhaust for a 350z?

I'm still asking him more questions about it, but it's one of the nicer Z's in my area that fits my budget (they're scarce here). Thanks for the replies guys I'll ask him some more.

Passenger window motor probably needs replaced, it's pretty common for 350z's. How does one reset the oil gauge? I've never had problems with mine. Where are you located? $8300 seems a little high but then again I don't know where you are.

People, "Staged" clutches are entirely manufacturer defined (and MARKETED as such) and each one is different company to company..... a "stage 4" clutch from one company might be a puck clutch and another company's "stage 4" might be a full disc carbon kevlar unit, etc....
I also think an oil gauge reset involves the use of a ball peen hammer.

Stage 5 clutch to handle all the power it used to have before the supercharger was removed and sold separately, and I found some cats from a G35 so I could sell my race headers, just put oem spark plugs back in because the ones that I had in their were set up for a 150 shot of noz...
Its not a horrible price especially if its in good shape, their just seems to be some stuff that's not adding up to that asking price.

I'm in the northeast if that helps, I'll try and upload some pictures for you guys. Exterior is in decent condition, one taillight is cracked as he mentioned. The leather on the interior though is cracked to bits. He also put on what looks like the nismo spoiler. Really appreciate all the feedback guys thanks a lot.

I drove down to get my Z a friend to sit in the driveway with, unfortunately it turned out to be good from far and far from good... I asked a bunch of questions before even looking at it but the seller didnt disclosure the problems... Apparently a mint top is one with rips in it, and no check engine light on because its a service engine soon light... Had a code for crankshaft position sensor... He said it had a aftermarket exhaust didn't know what brand... Get their and its got a muffler deleted...
Minor paint chips in the front bumper = a ugly grill, with scratched up not well fitting front bumper... Other good things I noticed... Moldy carpet, seat motor broken, door handle with 2 metal screws holding it on passenger side. Rear deck looked like edward scissor hands detailed it after he was finished with the interior... Door panels falling off, missing some little pieces... And the car shut off after sitting idle for about 10 minutes... Sadly it was a no go, but it made me feel better about the one sitting in the driveway.
It was going to be for my wife though so im a little bummed it wasnt in better condition, she was excited about having a little convertible sports car... But she agreed it wasnt worth the hassle, or the $9500 asking price... We were going to do $8000 and the owner keeps the 20s but that seemed like more then it was worth once we actually checked it out in person.
That was a 4 hour venture of today...
