Hi I'm new to the forum trying to find some information if it's legal to import a rhd 350z from Japan into the states I live in Arizona hoping I can import one here all the feedback would help thx.

Welcome- the answer to your question is straightforward. It's not legal to import a JDM RHD 350Z for regular use on US roads.

There was actually one listed on the Tampa CL maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago. I think it was a 2005 or 2006.

But seriously, I can't even fathom the amount of work it'd be for a pointless return-on-invest....er, return on flushing money down the toilet. Besides the entire front half of the interior, there's the little thought of how it all re-connects up to the steering gear, where you're going to get suspension that works with the "wrong side" (here in the US) set up, etc.... etc... etc...

Trying to build a replica of the Stardast 350z and I always wanted a rhd car. I got a family member that could help me and basically do the work for free just need the parts and need to know were to get them at

having lived in okinawa- driving a left hand drive honda (yes-we imported? exported? a honda back to japan)....
i gotta say- that uniqueness wears off really quickly.
(and i never even tried going to a drive-thru with it)

*side note----nothing like learning to drive in the states at 16- then at 18 driving on the other side of the road with a car set up to drive on the other side of the road....interesting trips for my passengers-lol

Buy a standard 350z and fab or find a RHD kit. aka buy and import a 350z RHD front clip.

OK, another "minds made up" thread but I'm going to tell the story from the "Have owned one" perspective just as a last ditch effort of talking some sense....

My last S30, about 2011, was a true Fairlady, brought in from Okinawa (not by me). I bought it as barely a roller with literally nothing motive between the front grill and taillights.

I tried, no, really, actually tried to procure parts for it to build it up. Everything I needed had to come from Japan. And that wasn't happening what with everyone there that understood what I needed, also understood the value of the U.S. dollar.

Even thought about just using a US-domestic engine.... RB20DET or somesuch to relieve my need for JDM parts. Still a PITA.

My only point is that getting the proper parts isn't as simple as many make it sound. I have money to bring whatever I need to the US... but do I want to throw that money away when it could be used for more practical, easier things to do to a Z.... like a Dodge hemi swap or maybe drop in an AMG 5.5 or 6.3 engine or something. < note sarcasm >

But I admire your tenacity and insistence on doing this.... good luck.
