Default 35th Anniversary - A Collector's Item?

I have a 35th Anniversary model, in great shape. Had the car for 7 years. I also have a 1.5 yr old and it can be a challenging situation at times. It's my daily but I drive 1/2 a mile to work. My wife also commutes to work in her Rogue, and there's no way in heck shes taking the Z to her job.

So, I've been given cash offers frequently just from it sitting in my driveway. I do want a 4 door pickup truck because it would be a great utility to me being a big DIY homeowner. So its been on my mind... I would hate to see it go, but my real question is - how do you guys foresee the value of an Anniversary model holding up? Do you think it would be a collector's item down the road?

I've been debating just getting an old 4 door pickup (~$5000 or so) and using that as a daily, while storing the Z in the garage for weekends.

Wife's been dropping hints here and there about letting it go, but she's pretty easy going, so she wouldn't really mind either way.

Just looking for opinions as I would rather not be kicking myself later or my kid saying "DAD, WHY'd you get rid of that?"

I don't see the 35th anniversary being sought after. It had the same motor as the 06 and the rim design was adopted by 06-08 models. There really isn't anything that special about the 35th besides the yellow paint option and the little commemorative plate.

They weren't all yellow. In any case, IMO, not much of a collector car, and I'd gladly pay more for an '07-'08, if only for the HR motor.

Its worth due to the anniversary model will be what someone is willing to pay. My opinion is that it will be worth just as much or just as little as any other comparable z.

look at the 50th anniversary 1984 300zx turbo...nothing, 50th anniversary corvette...nothing, any one of the many mustang models throughout the years...

the reason why the NSX, FD RX7, Supra, early on Ferraris, Porsche, etc are worth so much is because the limited numbers produced & sold. Limited supply and massive demand!

buy a 4 door pickup truck and keep the z! I daily my '04 F150 supercrew and garage the z - best of both worlds!

Do you still run full coverage on the Z?

I carry full coverage on both vehicles but have a high deductible on the pickup. Full coverage with the high deductible is about the same cost as liability only...If either vehicle get stolen, wrecked, damaged I'll get a little check to offset the cost of a replacement.
