Out the Door Price.....??
I'm negotiating a deal with a sales guy and he says 35k out the door for a touring model (not roadster) without navigation and only alum kickplates and a couple mats or whatever....
My question is what everybody else paid out the door for the touring model if you have it.
Thanks in advance, this information will help me negotiate better...

Yea, I thought that was a bit high. What's a good price for that trim type without navigation and just alum kickplates/floor mats/trunk mats?
Thanks for the response man...

Let me know what I should offer...
Oh, I dont mind going out of state to purchase it as well, so if anybody knows where I can get hooked up with a good price let me know!
Thanks guys.
Actually I believe the Auto on the Touring is actually cheaper than the 6mt. Personally I wouldn't pay more than MSRP out the door for the car. But thats just me.
*edit* I've heard good things about Dick Smith Nissan outta Columbia SC.

I thought that was high but not 2 or 3k high.
If your a good at dealing then you should be able to get just about any car out the door for what it costs MSRP. You just need to look all the info, like invoice, dealer hold back, the amount in tax you'd be paying. Usually MSRP or 500 over MSRP at most out the door is good enough for the dealer and you.
I think for a touring you should pay around $1000 above invoice, maybe. You might be able to do $500 over invoice.
Remember, when negotiating, never start at MSRP and go down, alwasy start at invoice and go UP. I'm pretty sure dealers actually pay a bit below invoice, so they still make money at $500 above invoice. To get the invoice price, hit Edmunds.com

you should be able to pay buy any NON roadster 350z @ invoice, at least in Chicago.
Different regions have different tax/plates costs.
Different regions have different invoices. (variable is advertizing costs, at least GM, Ford, Honda, and Toyota have these).
Also, I do not think a dealer asking for List is a bad thing. Dishonesty, bad service, bait in which all that is wrong. A dealer is not wrong for asking for profit.
I don't understand why people will pay a 300% mark up on a coke, but wont pay 1% mark up on a car.
Altima should go for 200 under invoice. 350z should go for something over it.
I am not saying all dealers a good, but ALL dealers aren't bad.

KingofScion and MofoZ,
I'm in the Chicagoland area too. KingofScion, do you remember me? I called Frank at Joliet already, but they are completely out of the Z.
I went to serveral Nissan dealerships in the area:
1) Hawkinson, $500 below invoice, but no Navigation, and not the color that I want.
2) Woodfield, $1000 above invoice if I ordered a new one from them.
3) Gerald (the worst), $1200 above invoice, and the car has 125 miles on it. They are giving me this speech, the car is hard to find, they don't care to discount the "damn" thing, because people will pay MSRP for it...etc. The car has Navi, Side Airbag, Floor Mat, Trunk Mat, Aluminum kick plate.
bknezevic, I think the timing has something to do with the negotiation power too. I wish I could have done it early in the year (like in January - March), when sales of the Z is slow in our part of the country.

Purchased 2004 5AT Touring, all options last October...paid 10% over invoice. Never mentioned MSRP...about $34.3K out the door.
Friend purchased same car, no NAV, in S. Carolina last December for 4% over invoice...out the door at about $32K. He rips me on it all the time. Auto does list less than 6sp, go figure.
edit
I have not seen friends sales contract to confirm)
