Meguiar's

Has anyone waxed their Z with Meguiar's or any brand other than Zaino. I am sure that Zaino is great but I would like to get a look at pictures with other wax before I try it. I have used Meguiar's in the past with good results, but I am unsure of how it compares to products like Zaino.

I used about everything for over 30 years and stopped looking after trying Zaino. Even furniture polish will give a nice temporary shine, but it doesn't last or protect. You should try different products and see what you like best about them. The reason I stayed with Zaino is because of the durability, protection and ease of use, oh yeah, and it has a great shine that gets better with every coat.

Thanks. Also, if I were to use Zaino on an older car, what order of the products would I use? I asume that starting with the clay would be my first priority with a 13 year old paint job.

I use Meguiar's. Used their cleaner/wax (in the red tin) on my 95 300ZX and 96 300ZX and currently use Gold Class on my 94 300ZX Twin Turbo, 94 SE-R, and 350Z.

Here's an interesting Meguiar's vs. Zaino test a person did on his Porsche 911 Turbo: http://pages.sbcglobal.net/gheumann/zaino_test/

Quite a few people swear by Zaino. I personally can't tell a difference and can't justify spending the greater difference in cost (I might if my cars were show cars).

Michael.

On autopia CMA was giving away samples of the new blackfire products. I would call them and ask for a sample to try it out. I know they were giving out full 16o.z. samples. Worth a shot. It a good way to test a product rather than purchasing it and being stuck with it.

What is autopia? How do I get ahold of them for the sample?

Call them. Here is their #800-628-7596

The person I spoke to was John. He was very knowledgable in detailing products and advice. I'm pretty sure he if not someone else could help you out. They are all wonderful people.

Autopia is another forum. Here is the link www.autopia.org I stop hanging out their because after a year, everyone started bashing one another. They have become detailing monsters!

:D
