leather care
ok, i condition my seats about every 2-3 weeks the last year. they still are getting the little lines in them and am afraid in a few more years the seats will be trash. not sure what else to do. i have used about 5 different types of conditioner too, and havn't gotten better results from one to the other. any ideas?
i am about ready to get aftermarket seats and wrap the stock ones in plastic or something to try and help preserve them. it is mostly just the side bolsters that are showing the lines. |
yeah at this point i've decided that i will end up replacing the seat covers in a year or so on my 03'...

Try Zaino leather conditioner.

Have used Zaino, but have ordered some Leather Care from "Griot's". Will give it a try and post.

You can't prevent the lines but conditioning does keep it soft and prevents cracking. My 91 had no issues and I only conditioned the leather about 8 times a year. The Zaino is the only one I've found that actually DOES smell like leather. Others are close but Zaino is pretty much dead on! Bottom line is, as long as you're using something on a regular basis your leather should hold up fine. |
try lexol it's awesome stuff, they use they stuff on the barret jackson auction cars. there's 2 one is in a orange bottle, the other is in brown bottle. since i do interiors on multimillion dollar aircrafts, i think they have the best leather cleaners/conditioiners. i think you can get it through mail do a google on townsend leathers, i will try to look in my toolbox tonight at work to see the brand of the other, it's what the factory recommends on bentleys, etc. its awesome, bar none. im sure its expensive but hey not as much as leather replacement. as many of this jets have tons of hours on them the seats always look great, except when they get ink marks on them, which i have stuff to get that out also!

go to bramclassauto.com and look at the connolly hide food and the lexol leather cleaner both for 3x.xx dollars. we use connolly hide food at work and if its good enough for a 20 plus million dollar aircraft, that uses way softer leather than our 350z's. due a google on connolly hide food, or hide food. this is what bentley, etc. suggest and use on their auto's, good stuff give it a try. conditioning leather is good, but you also have to clean it. the all in one cleaner conditioners suck, period.

Some swears by Hide Food which is made in England by the producers of the world famous Connolly Leather. I have used it but dunno if it has made a big difference.
