Cleaning the Z's Dashboard...
 

Hi all,

As a new Z owner (got mine 2 weeks ago)...it's about time to do some cleaning. What do you guys recommend for cleaning the dashboard/interior panels of the car? I do NOT want to use a product that adds any sort of "shine" to the interior...I just want it to look clean. I noticed (in certain light) the door panels pick up finger prints pretty easily, so I need to get rid of those. I looked around for a product in a few stores in my area, but all the interior products seemed to indicate they add shine as well as clean.

Just use Armorall Wipes, it might look shiney for a second, but it goes away. Why wouldn't you want it to look clean? Don't be so over protective or anal, just use the wipes, they do a pretty good job.

On door panels just use a wet rag.

On everything else, you can use 303 Aerospace Protectant. Just don't spray it directly and it won't make your interior greasy/shiney.

:+1: on 303. Tough product to beat as a "no shine" interior cleaner/UV protectant.

303 Aerospace protectant is the ****. I spray it on though for easy application. Makes your panels look like new.

I just use the wet absorber cloth that I dry the car with been doing it for years on all my cars.

megs interior quick detailer....cleans, light protection and can be used on all surfaces, leather, radio and including door panels...nice clean smell..cheap too

+1111111111111111 on aerospace. stuff lasts so long!! doesnt make it overly shinny like armor all and the protection is suppose to be superb. its not greasey either. its perfect!

I wouldn't recommend spraying anything directly on the door panels, dash or console. That doesn't cover evenly and results in dark blotches. Always spray on a cotton applicator or cloth and let it soak in for a few seconds then rub it on the surface.

This stuff rocks. It seems to bring the plastic back to life. I won't go back to using any other interior cleaners.:)

+111111 FTW!!!!!!!!! Spray it on a cloth, wipe on, and you can use another cloth to "buff it off" if you want so it won't be shiny at all and still give you that UV protection. You can literally spray this stuff on anything, even parts on the outside of the Z! (like the antenna, window wiper holders, front grille, etc.)

I use Armor All wipes and rub it in with this cheap spongy thing I picked up at a dollar store. It looks like a shoe shining spong. Amazing how well this little thing works.

get a "california car duster" they come in a copule of sizes, the smaller one is great for interiors. The larger for the exterior. They get in ever little nook and cranny and grab the dust. And leave no residue.
I keep one in the trunk. I only use a liquid at the end of the open top season.

my california car duster for the interior is leaving red material behind, does it go away after using it a couple of times? (not talkink about the grease in these dusters)
