Default How time consuming is a SB Z?

Ive been reading through the search results and mostly just find posts of how nice SB looks when clean.

Nothing about how much more time it takes to keep clean.

So im here to ask some of the owners of SB Zs a few questions.

How many times a week do you wash your car?

How many times a month do you wax your car?

Would you say it takes twice as much time to keep clean? Or even 3 times as much as say a Brighter color such as DB or Redline?

Is it still a head turner if its dirty?

Do you regret getting black?

Im sure people are getting bored of seeing posts such as this but like i said ive used the search tool and didnt find much.

Super Black is an orgasmic color on the Z and I would love to have 1 but im afraid I wont have enough time to wash it more then once or twice a week and thats probly not doing it justice.

So my fallback is Daytona Blue.

Thanks for any info you vetran Super Black owners can give me.

O any cleaning Tips are Welcome too.

DD my SBZ, wash every 2 wks. wax once a month.
And guess what after spending hrs. of making it shine and showroom fresh look its only good for about a 100 yards and you come back home she's dirty again, but I love SBZ colors it's just very hard to maintain it.

daytona blue is the way to go!!! when it's dirty it doesnt look as clean as when it is clean (of course) but it still looks pretty clean! haha i dunno i cant explain it. I also think daytona blue would get more attention then black.

If you consider taking care of the car a chore...then don't get SB. I usually only have time once a month to wash & wax and it's very relaxing for me. However, like blackwidow...100 yards and the cars dirty again I have birds in my area that hate my car(need to pick up a car cover asap) and my workplace is at the airport which is an open area so winds are pretty strong with lots of dirt!

However once I z6/z5 the crap outta it...it is like pure blackness of sex Zedism in broad daylight and I can't quit staring at it until those 100 yards are past due ^_^

I love my 05 SB...Wash every week...wax once a month...claybar every two months...today used 3M rubbing compond to smooth out hood and roof to get out pesky water spots.

I love SB when it is clean..when it gets a little dirty it looks bad and erks me all day. So yes it is time consuming, but worth it.

I use Meguires step 2 cleaner wax and Maguires NXT Wax, Mothers Claybar with showtime spray for the clay. and 3M mild/med rubbing compond to get out swirls and water spots.

I have a magnetic black and during the summer I try to wash once a week. I live in an apartment complex with no hose so I have to bucket wash which is a big pain in the ***, but it's worth it. The thing looks great when clean. I am really lazy when it comes to waxing and I never use Zaino or anything. Once in a while I use some Meguiar's gold class but it's rare. My recommendation is to get a fresh coat of paint on your front end and get a clear bra installed...IMO it's worth the money. Now my front bumper and front of my hood is all chipped up after 1.5 years of daily driving (including winter) and I wish I had put out the extra cash for the clear bra when I bought it.

I wash my SB about every other week and wax once a month, I don't consider it a hassle though, as I love the way it looks when clean.

Ok, here's the deal.

If your into cleaning and cleaning , and cleaning, then you need to get a SB Z. I have one and I love it, but I do have to say that it will consume very much of your time if you are a OCD freak & don't mind it then you'll be OK.

Nothing looks better than a nice clean & freshly waxed Black Z, but beleive me.....you'll never have it stay as clean as you will like. As soon as your done washing, Waxing, Buffing, & wiping, repeating again & again....etc...

.......we'll I guess you'll find out if you get a SB Z.

I'll look for you in the future complaining about how much time you spend keeping it clean, or trying to keep it clean.

Im willing to wash it once or twice a week and wax it once or twice a month so I hope that will keep it looking somewhat clean cause the SB on the Z is toooo damn sexy.

Im guessing clean or dirty it will still look hot with some black rimz.

Ya sense it will be my daily driver, atleast until its snowing ( although I might just have to play in the snow a little ) im not worry about it being 100 percent clean till spring hits and the rain lets up a little.

Till then ill probly just wash it for days or nights when I go out and it will be seen by others.

Bet your **** that when the rain stops falling she will be shining.

Atleast until that first 100 yards is up haha

SB here,
GET ZAINO'd!
best thing I have done to keep it clean.
One wash about every other week is good enough. Its dusty down here and I usually use a california duster once/twice a day on it and it looks like it just got washed.
But zaino ftw!

I love my black, i wash her after 1 or 2 weeks, i wax once a month, sometimes more.

If you enjoy taking care of your car it isn't a hassle, but if you don't like washing your car then it might get old.

I've had nothing but black cars my whole life.....maybe i'll buy a red Porsche when im 60.
