Zaino'd over a scuff.
 

I didn't realize my Black paint had a scuff in it before I went ahead and put on 4 coats of Zaino (2 Z5, 2 Z2). The scuff is only noticable when reflected against a dark wall -- you can't see it under sunlight or direct artificial light.

Anyways, now that I know its there, it is bugging the h3ll out of me. I want it gone.

Can I try to get it out with liberal doses of Z5 over my existing 4 coats or do I need to get back down to the clearcoat and then use Z5 or possibly something more aggressive to remove the scuff?

If I have to go through to the clear, can I do it in this small area somehow? I would prefer not to negate all my efforts to put on the 4 coats (+ wash/clay/wash/Z6 etc.) by starting over.

Any ideas or help is appreciated.

From what is being said on the forum you're SOL if you want to get it off... "Zaino doesn't come off" lol..

If it's in the clearcoat you'll need to buff it out. Get a PC and a nice polish to get done with it.

Assuming I can get to it, what product would you suggest to remove it?

I had given it two coats of Z5 before I knew it was there. Had I known it was there, I could have been more thorough on that spot. Z5 doesn't look like its done much for it.

Do I need something a bit more abrasive like Meguire's X-out or something similar?

While thought to be the best if you have a orbital buffer at home just use that instead of buying a new one. Since you've already tried by hand then it probably won't come out without using some type of abrasive. Check out this faq for some info on removing it the right way... (or you can attempt to pay someone to do it)

EDIT: I bought scratch-X by meguiars a long time ago. I don't think it's an abrasive though. It didn't do jack on a black or blue car. =\ I would use a 3M product but check out properautocare or even email them - they are great to do business with.

Use the 3M Swirl Mark Remover part number 39009, on such a small area using by hand will be fine, you might not even need a machine. The 3M is a mild abrasive and will cut off whatever Zaino is present and get down to the scuff and then wipe off the area you used the 3M on with some car wash solution and re-Zaino that area.

I had the same thing with my SB. I used Dawn dish soap followed by maguiars paint cleaner and re-Zainoed... looks fine. Caveat to all Zaino users, make sure paint is absolutely clean before Zaino
