Nice picture. What kind of wax and polishing products do you use? I'm a Blackfire Wet Diamond fan myself, but find it's the prep (wash, clay and polish) work that really makes a difference.

Don't be mislead, David. That's not mine, I just thought it was a great photo!

Mine - wash once a week, clay and polish annually, wax twice a year. Although I do spend a bit of time buffing pylon marks of it haha - I don't think the Z's paint is that good to start with (at least mine)

But I will take note of your material.

thanks for not blasting me on my uncanny ability to state the obvious.

" I don't think the Z's paint is that good to start with (at least mine)"

There's not one part of that car that resembles a Z

Think I need some sleep

That part up there looks like it defies gravity.. I'm a Mothers/Meguiar's guy. I try to wash and polish mine once a week, wax it once or twice a year. I live near a lot of large lakes, so everyday when I get home from work there's like a thousand bugs on my bumper. I'll usually just hose them off quick.. Cool story, huh?

Observation By The Obtuse Of The Week.

I don't get the original picture nor the comment on it.

Bet no one got that "joke". Obtuse (as in angular description not JUST how slow I am).... "more than 90 degrees, less than 180"

Attreyu'Z.... you still got paint? 52 polishes in a year?? WTH...

lol.. Yeah my car pretty much looks like this ^ ...But no, I use this concoction of water and Meguiar's Slick Mist. Sounds weird I know, but it works. I put around 10 sprays of Meguiar's in a bucket with water and a rag and go to town. Takes me like 15min.

If you're referring to mine? I've read it 4 or 5 times today and I think I'm getting some of what I was trying to say - Sleep deprivation is a nasty thing

Nope, still don't get it being obtuse as I am.

Ohhhhhhh..... dude, that ain't "polishing", that's "instant detailing". I am a devotee of both the Optimum product and the one by Meg's. Would be nice if I did it more often than I do.... Z hasn't moved nor been washed in over 2 months...sitting outside at that.

"Polishing" - at least in my mind (IOW, jumbled) - is when you whip out the P-C (that's Porter Cable, not a cornpooter.) and hit it with some V36 followed by wax or some Opti-Coat.

Obtuse also meaning "annoyingly insensitive"

Yep. Instant Detailing. That's pretty much what it is. Between my life consuming job and side work on my weekends, I'm always looking for efficient and effective ways of getting the job done.

try the wolfgang uber wash, i was die hard ONR user until i tried this. seems to leave the surface slicker

and i love Opti-coat... my buddy did a full paint correction and applied opti-coat. 2 years later water still beads up on it like it was waxed yesterday

" I'm always looking for efficient and effective ways of getting the job done."

Agree, same here. Is it lazy or genius ?

"Quick and easy" is lazy. "Efficient and effective" is genius.

Going to have to give Opti-coat a try.

Or I could just take all this *****, mix it together in a garden sprayer and blast it.
