First shelby gt 500 in the 9's

this kinda makes me sad...the car is out less than 6 months and already they are running in the 9's by adding a 75 shot and some tuning...man this makes me feel once again I bought the wrong car...(not really, but kinda....you know what I mean)

thats fast as hell but gt500's are going for like 60k...thats a bit out of the Z's price range.

zland Dec 9, 2006 06:28 PM

Put 20k into a Z and it will not run in the 9's

savvy Dec 9, 2006 06:29 PM

thats a beast

I put over 50K on top of the price for the Z and it still has to hit 11's without breaking something...

More was done to that car besides a 75 shot. They claim nothing was done to the SC as well. Now keep in mind this is on a 4000lb car... Besides it's still a ford....

Wow, that purge was awesome!

ak350 Dec 9, 2006 06:57 PM

If you take a look in the description it says it has a new pulley on it.

I dont consider a Shelby GT500 a Ford...I dont care how many blue oval badges are on the ****en thing....thats one BADASS RIDE!

brooke Dec 9, 2006 07:04 PM

I'm sure they will be as Reliable as the older Ford Super Chargers... :)

Blower

That supercharger looks like it would work in a z or g
looks like a oversize Stillen ... he he

Awesome job on that car. Funny how that 9 second car pulled a 1.5 60ft obviously launching HARD, and yet people still believe a certain NA Z ran a 1.5 60ft with 260whp (see #1 slot in sticky thread to laugh at BS)....

Kam350z Dec 9, 2006 07:55 PM

That's a damn quick car ..

From what I've read the car has I/E, a ported blower, smaller pulley, almost full suspension and those big slicks. Not quite as stock as you'd believe. Wicked none-the-less. I'll try and find the link with more info.

true as it may but it's still very minimal compared to what several of us had to put in.

In any case this is a great car

Benefits of a factory F/I car.

Thats not a stock car at all in my opinion. Sure, its not a lot either, but not stock. Still cant take away from the fact that it is one ballsy car. 140mph trap. That is rediculous!!!

brooke Dec 10, 2006 09:49 AM

75 shot, ported blower, race gas, drag radials, smaller pulley, plus they did weight reuction as well ,etc, etc etc....

Far from stock plus keep in mind no one knows what the limits are on this motor yet. Can you say boom!!! Like I said before if it's anything like the earlier sc's those gt owners will spend more time fixing the car than driving them. It's a 4000lb straight line muscle car.

JG 350Z Dec 10, 2006 10:06 AM

Wonder if any weight reduction was done, that was the biggest issue, 4000+ for the coupe, I heard someone already got 800rwhp. BTW there are selling for about 30K over sticker.
