2006 - My first year in revue

I was so excited my first time. I was so nervous that I decided that I would just have fun with it. I had practiced street launches many times before, so I prepared to do something like that. I tried to keep the RPM's a hair below 3000, but I was so anxious that my leg was shaking and the tach was all over the place. My buddy told me not to worry about my reaction time, so I didn't. I sat there for a second, swallowed, and then I went for it. I wish I knew exactly what RPM I launched at, because it felt perfect.

BTW - I had a HKS intake, a Nismo clutch, and RS*R springs.

Strangely enough, my first run was my best run ever. I never beat it all season. I had a lot of problems finding the right RPM to launch at. I either bogged or spun tires. After trying the brake fuse trick, I was able to get a little more consistency.

The closest I came, was my second to last run of the year. It felt good, but there was a slight bog on the launch. BTW - I now had a new Nismo clutch, Nismo flywheel, and Cusco Zero-2 coil-overs.

Anyway, I hope maybe some of you more experienced guys could give me some pointers. Heck, maybe we could get together some time at Cecil County!

I am 90 percent certain that with a 2.0 second 60-foot time, you will break 13.99 seconds. I am a regular at Cecil County, but race Summit ET on Sundays. Maybe its time to graduate from Test & Tune, and move to competition racing.:)

My hardest competition is myself. I can run all day at a track within .15-.2seconds as you saw at MIR, but I dont like paying $40+ for possibly only 2 runs in bracket racing, Id rather do Test & Tune or go to the Saturday more expensive but tons of track time at Cecil....I wouldnt perdonally suggest the OP try bracket racing just yet--->work on that launch and your first 2 shifts, and you will be 13's all day long!

tany009 - I had the helmet ready all season! LOL

davidv - I'm not sure that I can get that 60-foot time down much more without dropping weight or slicks. I'm going to try and make it out more this year. What color is your car?

Right now, I need to concentrate on my launches. I'm curious how suspension adjustments and tire pressure can affect traction. I was away on business last summer, so I didn't get a lot of time in. Also, every time I went, someone blew oil down the track and I'd have to wait two hours for clean-up.
