Clutch pedal didn't come back up all the way...
 

So my first time at the track, and first time doing the 1/4 mile. And so I give it some gas and ease off the clutch then floor it while fully releasing the clutch pedal. But it doesnt come all the way back up. It goes about halfway up and just sits there. Engine was at around 7k rpms when I shifted into second, and against it didnt come up all the way. So I stopped shifting and waited until it came back up. So I ended up with a 19.6 @59mph 1/4 mile. Why did it do this? I asked a couple of the guys that were there and they said the clutch just didnt fully engage and was just spinning or something. But maybe you guys can help me out.

It was fine on my second run which I messed up anyway by shifting way too soon and not flooring it. 15.5 @90mph.

What year is your car? There's some that had clutch issues.

Haha, the guy next to me ran a 17 something Don't remember what it was tho. Maybe an old Integra.

My car is a 2008 Base.

I believe you're in the range for the slave cylinder (or master, I forget) problems. Take it to the dealership, they'll repair it under warranty.

+1 IIRC it's the slave. I had the same issue on my SR 240 when it was leaking

It is. I had the same problem with my 07. I had to put my foot behind it and pull it up sometimes because it only came up halfway from time to time. Then it finally went out completely and the clutch wouldn't disengage at all and the peddle stayed on the floor (tow truck time). I got a new clutch AND tranny out of the deal under warranty. =)

Yep, it's the slave cylinder.

The updated slave cylinder does better, but it's not perfect either.

I do find it interesting that my stock clutch now has over 43K on it, even with 2 slave cylinder replacements. Hopefully the 09 will have a different deisgn, and the 07-08 will eventually get a better update.

Maybe its a sign. Drag racing is not for you.

yup, happened to me and that was one of the last times i dragged the Z

Yeah it was never really for me. I'll do it one more time next month and then probably just try to do a road track. I think I'll like that more.
