What size are those?

Conceyted Feb 17, 2004 07:41 AM

Good luck with your rear end holding up. Those will definatly grip, but just hope your rear end stays in one piece....

dave079 Feb 17, 2004 07:43 AM

When are you going to the track with those?

Alberto Feb 17, 2004 09:40 AM

You werent kidding when you said little puppies, those look narrow. Although they are much better than street tires, with the power your car makes you will probobly need wider slicks....good luck at the track and let us know how you do.

daking350 Feb 17, 2004 01:36 PM

They are 9" wide..Going to the track on the 28th of FEB..

Awesome keep us posted on the results.

Zmeflyby Feb 17, 2004 07:47 PM

man thats a pretty nasty scratch on your front bumper :D

350ed Feb 17, 2004 08:10 PM

Yup, but it's the rear bumper.
Are you gonna swap the wheels at the track, drive it, or tow it?

Swap em at the track..You can not drive on slicks..And its not a scratch its a reflection from the flash..

You are in 13s and probably dont put as much stress on your rear as an 11-12 second car would. Seriously, just be careful try not to be too hard on the launch.

that's pretty much irrelevant as the whole reason that slicks put stress on rear ends is due to driveline shock....NOT power.

bluefish Feb 20, 2004 05:26 AM

Good Luck.... come join the 11 second club.

do not worry about the rear, she can hold...

Alright, well if you guys come home with broken rear ends, all I will say is I told you do. If I were you guys I would not be running slicks on a stock rear end. Maybe I'm wrong and the Z has some amazingly strong rear end that can take the abuse. I hope I am wrong!

You gotta pay to play....if no one out there was willing to take the risk of breaking anything...then we'd all have bone stock cars and not race them....

I hear ya man...out of 100 stock rear ends 97-99 might hold and a few mat fail..thats just the way it is..

themyst Feb 23, 2004 08:54 PM

the rear end isn't tightened too well at the factory. a few hard launches and the thing will start making a ticking noise. need to take it to the dealer to retighten. had that problem on my Z, starting to happen on the g35.

FLY BY Z Feb 23, 2004 09:58 PM

This is an IRS car. You'll probably break your halfshafts before your rear end.
